Every damn service release is coing out!! I am doing a brand new install. I am really pissed so very pissed right now it's taken all my will from punching out walls! I has a series I've been working on for a week now for a client and today, after installing the SR2 , the PZ3 of the project I was working on is an UTTER mess. I have a scene with V3 and V4 in a garage with a few props and now NONE of V4's morphs are working. As a matter of fact when I move her at all she completely deforms. I am ready to throw poser out the window!! I am so angry right now I thought SR were suppose to make things better not worse???

If these damn software companies can't get together to make thing work then screw the entire lot of them. They now hold a place along side used car salesmen and politicians, crooks, liars and cheats and should be arrested and shot on site!

Aw, com'on.......tell us what you really think.............😉

Honestly -- I haven't had anything even remotely like this happen with SR2 -- so far.  It hasn't been out long enough to do a top-to-bottom evaluation.  But I've not come accross any glaring flaws up to this point in time.  In fact, it's been very positive.

Sorry for your troubles.  If it were me, then I'd be sure to make a backup copy or two of the file, and then I'd try some tricks like replacing the V4 figure with a new one: in a figure change.  And if that didn't work, then I'd delete the V4 figure altogether, put in a new one, and then re-pose.  Or else I'd try substituting the original V4 figure for V4.1 -- or vice-versa.  Maybe you've already tried these things -- but that's where I'd start.

LOL, I hear ya.  In my CP feedback form, about upgrading software, I told them I usually wait till one or two SP's are out before I buy it, not wanting the headache of the initial bugs.

Maybe if more people did that, maybe the software companies would feel a bigger bite in revenue loss releasing software needing so many patches.
I've been burned by buying freshly released upgrades too many times!!! Guess I'll always be half a version behind ;)

Sealtm2 - I dread the words Service Release.  I usually delay doing updates until after a few days or a couple of weeks, particularly if I have a bad gut feeling about how things are going to go.

You just learned a great lesson! NEVER Install a new service release mid project if your project is income based!

stormchaser posted Thu, 21 June 2007 at 1:29 PM

Sealtm2 - Oh the pain!! Sorry to hear about this. There must be something which can be done to save the project.
I feel this way towards computers in general, I love 'em & I hate 'em. I have yet to install the latest patch, I don't think I'll be in any rush yet.

Waaaahhh! And what a terrible lesson to learn. Well, I have to admit when I installed SR1 I had a project going and it didn't wreck it. I don't know I'll figure it out maybe all that's wrong is the PZ3 got corrupted and that's all that is wrong and it will be a first I have never had a file go corrupt after saving it in any version of poser.

Actually, I'd say that a more fundamental "lesson" here is the 1st rule of computing -- if it's critical, then back it up.  Preferably with more than one backup copy.

i so feel for you...i have been through somewhat the same spot as you have. created a very elaborate scene that took me days to complete using V4 only to come back to a blank pz3. although i did find a solution via the forums, having to re-create the same elaborate scene is not something i would want to do over again.

as for the updates, i don't think i have downloaded any in a while. i don't think i will be rushing to it any time soon either. things are working perfectly so far and when things comes awry, i will consider the updates.

much luck seal, i do hope you are able to re-create the original if it comes down to that.

It's a frustrating situation, being stuck with a buggy piece of crap and wary that the "fixes" are just going to make it worse. Welcome to the new economy; get regular blood tests.
