Hello everyone, It's been a Very long time since I've visited the site let alone the threads so I'm FAR behind.
Anyway, I've not had the time to play with Blender in a good long time. And I'm still pretty short on time. So I'm asking for your help.
I already know about the tutorials on Blender Nation and others. But they do nothing but confuse me. They (most of the time) seemed to be made for users who already know a LOT about Blender's features. So I'm asking for child like lessons in a sence. Go Slow, explain what the buttons do, etc. In the long run, these tutorials are not just for myself, but other users as well.
In the above Thread Title I did not mention that I needed Video Tutorials, because I wanted to get the attention of ALL possible teachers. If you know how to make a Tutuorial but can't Video record it, Then DON'T WORRY!! I'll buy a buy Camtasia Studio for you. This way you can continue to make tuts in the future. All I ask is that (If Voice narracted or Text Narrated) ALL videos are produced in WMV format as if it's for a CD. I'll then take your video (after it's e-mailed to me) and post it as a FLASH Video on another site. When possible, I'll include a downloadable WMV version for others. YOU (the teacher) will get ALL of the credit links and props you so deserve. I'll post the info and links here as well as send them to you.
Why do I want the videdos as a WMV format? Because this way, the Video can be saved on CD and viewed on Standard (CD readable) DVD players AS WELL as the Xbox360. As we all know, it's VERY difficult to watch a video tut and try it at the same time from a single computer. Converting it to Flash is for 2 reasons. 1-The site does not support Video files other then Flash. 2-It'll help the few users that may be on a Mac.
If you're willing to create a Blender Video Tutorial, then please PM me here. You MUST have made at least ONE (non-video) Blender tutorial before however. Why? Because I'm not going to start buying the program for everyone just because they say they will make a tut. I MUST SEE that you know how to make a tutorial and know something about Blender. So, PRETTY PLEASE, don't start asking for the program just because you THINK you can make a tutorial. No offence, but I'm not going to waste my money.
oodmb, if you're reading this, PLEASE, consider taking part in this, you have the skills and know how to help the rest of use.
Below is MY list of video tutorials I NEED. If you have a request, then PLEASE, post it. Hopefully, someone will pick it up.
1-UV Mapping. What the Heck is it?
2-Exporting a Mesh as a Image for texture fitting
3-Adding Textures and Bump-Maps that move WITH the characters/objects
4-Nobes...er what are they and how do I use them?
5--Water, Wind, Hair, and Cloth simulators. I don't know how to get started let alone making them.
6-What is a "sss?" I read about them but no clue what they are.
7-How do you make Wax or Sken Materials look like they should? oodmb, done it before, but I can't figure it out.
8-Adding rotation limitations to Armatures. How do you do it?
9-Lighting is a pain to learn, can you help?
10-Adding Collision detection. I'm tired of my models pasing through one another when I don't want it to. It's a big waste of time positioning them when I KNOW it can be a LOT easier.
Okay, that's it for now. If I think of any more, I'll ask for them. And once again, PLEASE, don't start posting links to current tutorials (video or pther wise). They are a pain to learn and some never work. Think of this thread as a Renderosity project for the members. Something that'll bring the community together and provide free help to those of us that need it. Myself included. ;)
If you want to TRY Camtasia Studio then go here (http://www.techsmith.com/download/camtasiatrial.asp) and download it. It's a Very easy, straight foward program. Once it's agreed that you'll create a tutorial for us, I'll purchase a Serial Number for you. I'll post a link to a Flash Video on how to export Your Video for me in a few days. The program DOES come with tuts of it's own if they are needed. Just click "Show Me" and it'll play in a new window as a Flash file.
