Here's a problem that I have that is annoying rather than serious but I can't solve it.  When I open RAW files in CS3 Bridge the interface is too large for the screen  By that I mean that I can't see all the conrents because at the bottom of the screen are four buttons saying
SAVE IMAGE  OPEN IMAGE  CANCEL  and DONE.  but I can only see these if I click on the blue bar at the top and drag it slightly upwards  But the next time I open a RAW file it reverts back to the old view.  I have tried placing the curser over the bottom right-hand corner and clicking and dragging towards the centre but it doesn't move.  Any help would be appreciated.  Cheers

Hi Scott

It's a Dell 19" flatscreen monitor set at 1024 x 768

Many thanks
Jack

I thought this might help you all to understand what the problem is.  So far I have tried all your suggestions but none have been 100% successful.

But thanks for trying anyway
Cheers

Try setting you resolution to 1280x1024 - you should see it all in that resolution.

Then try this: Open your RAW editor and resize it to be smaller, then continue your edit and open the file. Close the file, then minimize PS3, and change your settings BACk to 1024x768. THEN open a RAW file again and see if the dialog box stays smaller from when you resized it (you could also, before changing the size back to 1024x768 open the RAW editor - just thought of that - and see if it's still the smaller resize).

Basically, more things are going to higher resolutions for the regular working area (Softimage XSI needs to be on a monitor no less than 1280x1024 or you won't see then whole thing and cannot access menus at the bottom - this is non-negotiable as you can NOT resize the screen), so you should probably just do it anyway and take the time to get used to it - took me a few days to get over the smaller size of icons and type, but now it looks like something out of "Romper Room" when I try and resize my settings to 1024x768.

Good luck-
-Lew ;-)

All of you who suggested that the answer to my problem was to change my monitor resolution were correct.  The problem was deciding what resolution to set it at and still be able to read it. So i think I have reached a compromise solution with a setting of 1152 x 864.  I am now able to see all the RAW interface and my old eyes are (just about) able to read all the text.
So many thanks for pointing me in the right direction
