In a continuation of Tom's DITI thread ; Ok...I couldn't do anything with this image...perhaps you can. Anything goes...go crazy!

Hahaha, Manning goes next. ;'P I took the approach of trying to improve the image. I enhanced the foreground and de-emphasized the background.

Awesome work here folks....and, you have given me some fresh ideas...
It is really interesting to see how different everyone's approach is to the same subject matter!

Firesnuffer, the torch falls to you now....

Yes, this does create fun and bring out new ideas!  My thought is lost art..the ancient stuff vanishing from us.  That is it.  I used levels to increase the shadow.

Firesnuffer, your gold leaf and bright color take the image to a different culture, many, many miles away. It almost has a look of an icon or something to see in a Czars palace or perhaps hidden in India.  Short ribs has a similar effect..but more modern, more brazen.  And, I sure do like the "spotlight" on part of the image.  This is neat stuff.        Tom.

PS. Two Pynts, nothing wrong with making it better and you did.

I believe we get two trys at this...I don't really remember. This is similar to Kort's improvement post.  I will post then compare.

This is the shot duplicated and worked with levels to bring out shadow detail, something important in relief objects such as this stone work.  I applied a bit of highpass filter in Photoshop, 10% and used overlay blending with about 25% opacity.  More opacity seems to be too overdone.  Otherwise, nothing else done.    I had to do this and see it on the thread.

Edit:Well, took a look and prefer Kort's....more light to the central part than mine.
