I won't be needing my $5 before it expires.
Anyone want to volunteer to receive a $5 gift certificate,
no strings attached?

MirageBay posted Sun, 29 July 2007 at 7:39 AM

And what, pray tell, are the invisible strings?  lol

If you're serious, I'd be delighted to take it off your hands.

The $5.00 gift is non transferable unfortunately.

Are you sure there isn't a $5.00 item you would like to use it on before it expires as if its a $5.00 item you won't have to put any additional funds with it:)

Acadia posted Sun, 29 July 2007 at 2:51 PM

Yes, there are hoards of items in the clearance section for $5.00

Also, while the $5.00 isn't transferable as a certificate to someone, I think you can use it to buy gifts for others. At least I saw other posts where people have used their certificate to buy a gift for someone else.

Since MirageBay was receptive, check her homepage and see if there is anything for $5.00 in the public wishlist and you can buy her the item.

wish i could do something worthwhile with the cupon I won't be using.. like donate it to charity...

Acadia posted Sun, 29 July 2007 at 4:04 PM

Geez! I can't believe you guys can't fine 1 single item in the MP for $5.00 that you want to buy.  I sat on my certificate for days while I pondered between several items.

Surely if you look through the MP or even the clearance section, you can find 1 item for $5.00 that you will use?

May I suggest treating yourself to something you don't usually buy? I bought a very good photo-realistic texture for M3 with mine that happened to be exactly $5.00, and as mentioned there are a number of great five doller items, I actually had quite a struggle deciding.  I'm sure you can find something fun to use it on if you look around a bit.  Enjoy it, these don't come often from what I've seen.

Khai-J-Bach posted Sun, 29 July 2007 at 4:20 PM

what would I buy... lets see.. I don't use any Daz figures.. so thats out... I don't buy textures, to much danger of them mixing into my own work and causing major problems, so thats out... Poses? waste of money IMO... lights? do my own...

erm.. what is there left to buy for me? nothing... so give the voucher to charity or something worthwhile..

Yes Thanks Acadia for bringing up the "gift" system. You can use it to buy a gift for someone. Make sure you put their username in the appropriate field.  I was just thinking in terms of transferring the $5 GC to another members account which we can't do but Acadia's idea is a good one so it can still be used:)

To get your Renderosity Reward code, use the "Members" top navigation button and select "My Account", then click on the "Gift Certs" link.

To apply your $5.00 credit, copy and paste the Reward code into the Gift Certificate field of the checkout page and hit the Apply button. If your purchase amount exceeds the $5.00 credit amount you can pay the remaining balance with Credit Card, Paypal, Check or Money Order.

I volunteer my Wishlist for the "Gift" system.

Kaibach, I did a program title search:
There are 4 Terragen items for $5.
There are 10 PhotoShop items on the first of 23 pages.
There are 10 PSP items on 3 pages.
There are 6 PaintShopPro items for $5.

Khai-J-Bach posted Mon, 30 July 2007 at 5:28 AM

thank you for doing that.. but still?

I don't use Terragen, PSP or ...PSP.

I do NOT use other ppl's photoshop items due to Copyright concerns with my products later on.

again.... nothing to buy or use and again.. give the $5 to something worthwhile.

Unfortunately the only choice available is to either use it to buy something for yourself, buy a gift for someone or let it expire unused.

The gift certificate was supposed to expire 11:59 PM CST according to the front page, but I couldn't use it 30 minutes before the deadline. It says it expired at 23:23! :(

Hmmm...the idea of donating a $5.00 Renderosity gift certificate to charity?
Reminds me of the Dennis Moore episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus...
I wonder - does the RO MP have any lupins anyway?
