Hello all,
I'm new here. I won't start with the traditional "please allow me to introduce myself etc etc..."
I am looking for some good photography forums, and as I browsed the galleriy and read a few posts , I feel, hope you're not offended, it's not way above my head here.
I'm an offset-printer, seven-to-four, sometimes later, sometimes weekends, a very stressy and tiresome job, and photography is one of my passions. I've had an OM2, then 4 for years, but about a year ago, I went digital. Now I use a Canon 350D set to manual and aperture priority and a few Sigma lenses: 10-20 f4-5.6 , 18-50 f2.8 and 105 f2.8. The darkroom-with-chemicals has been replaced by Photoshop CS2.
As I sometimes have to do Photoshop work at my job, I may have some tricks to share, although I suppose you know them all.
It's my first digital camera and I won't go back. I remember having to change film in a black bag to be able to shoot in Musea where there was less light...now you switch from 100 to 800 with a few clicks. What I do miss on the 350 is spot metering. I was used to that on the OM4.
I'm also a tripod fanatic as I don't like unsharp pics.
That's it for now. I stop lurking and I will open my gallery soon. I'll try and be active here, but with the uirregular hours and stress I often simply fall asleep when I come home. Wish I had another job, but then again, many people wish they had a job to start with.
