I wonder why it is that Daz can’t seem to make their website accessible for all computers. What sort of bells and whistles must your system have to load a basic thumbnail image from the dreaded daz image cache? One of my computers can access Daz without a problem. The other will bring me to the glaring gypsy but won’t let me past her. Unfortunately, I don’t use my Daz-compatible computer for web surfing except during dire emergencies and for online software registration. What special ingredient does Daz require of a browser or a computer before they will do business? I have Windows 98 with flash installed. (I don’t have quicktime.) I use a Zone Alarm firewall, but Daz didn’t work even when I tried with the firewall off. I use Firefox and Opera. I e-mailed Daz about this situation a long time ago and they responded by saying that they were going to modify their website. Inexplicably, one day the situation cleared up and I was able to use daz. Then my computer died. Now that everything has been reinstalled I can’t access daz again.

IE6 works great with Win98SE for browsing DAZ's site.

Quick, everyone roll back to Windows 98SE!

Or, if you're not as fortunate as I am, you could use Windows XP Home or higher along with IE7 to accomplish the same feat.

I had to "whitelist" the whole site in my Mozilla-Firefox browser, and also add the site to my safe site list in my firewall. After that the popup thumbs worked fine and it displayed fine with my broswer.
I then went to Adblock and blocked out that hideous grey gradient background that causes severe eye pain. Now their site is blinding white which is still easier on the eyes than that hideous silvery grey gradient that they don't seem to be inclined to change despite my having written to them several times about. :cursing:

Win 2000, Firefox (whatever the latest number is..;) no real problems accessing things...now finding things...that takes work..;)
There should be a weekly freebie section (selected, but not consecutive weeks, that is..;) out there. I recommend going to the Freepository, which is a forum/freebies section. 150+ pages, no waiting..;)

Anyone manage to find the free stuff link over there? The only way I can find it is to type "Free" into the search area, scroll way down to the FAQ questions, click a free stuff related question and hope that there is a link to the free stuff area.
I've since bookmarked it. But for newer users or for those who don't think to do what I did, there is no link for them to use to get to the free stuff area.

Just to note - these are older freebies. The new ones are temporarily free for a week, then go back to normal price. The current one can be found here:

A beach volleyball set is this week's freebie.
I've been doing pretty well with Daz's site using XP pro and Firefox2

I've stayed away from Daz since the dreaded changeover.
Also, you need to subscribe to the Daz weekly newsletter in order to download their freebies.

When I go there I see a red gas can, not a beach ball.

I've never seen a freebie listed in their newsletter.

No, you don't. Just go to the link at the top of this post.
Or, go to the main Daz page, click on "3d models" at the top. That should give you new 3d models, if not click on "New 3d models" on the left.
Be sure you have "newest first" checked. and you might want to check the "sale only" box.
You can save your settings to the right.

A certain proxy makes it possible for me to access Daz on my old computer and have the site behave normally. I don't know why. It just works. Daz is (was?) giving away 2 Dystopia city block sets today. Check the discounts.
