I was reading on this product, how M3 clothes fit V4
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/adman/adclk.php?ad_id=8261&sk=
and got to wondering. Why isn't there someone making these fits for V4 to V3, and V3 to V4??? I mean with all our in house Uber-Modelers/Mesh/Program Gurus, WHY? Isn't it, or hasn't it happened yet? I know V4 must be horrendous to design for with the jigsaw body parts. But we have a lot of talented people here...is anyone trying to do this? Or is this so frowned upon by the people who make the most money from V4?
If anyone knows how to make Older AS & other Cool Stuff fit V4, would you care to share?
just wondering.....

(I'll try to link http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=55543& )
The question is really good, pity I don't have an answer.

Well if had to hazard a guess.. Erics V4 morphs are similar in size and shape to M3 base structure and combining that with changing some of the parts of the V4 character invisable allows the clothes to fit passably. Thats just my summation of it:)

Hi sorry I didn't answer sooner...What I think I meant to be asking is, when ever I try to work something onto a V4 that is originally a V3, I get massive collison issues, I can't even do like a paper doll effect where you would "Lay" the outift over the V4. I just wish that the creators of all my great outfits would at least offer a V3 fit with your purchase! I mean I have almost $1,000.00 in AS stuff and you think they care if it is useless on the new V4...NO! I know this because I asked! I mean I bought "Black Lotus", and "Eclipse" immediately before the V4 release and right then and there AS and Syliphial(*sp?) said a flat "We no longer support V3, or those V3 products." as in we won't be doing conversions or upgrades for thier customers. That is why I love Orion1167! (*Chris....hugggggggggs!) Because he knows that many people might have V4, but still love thier V3 Models they gathered and spent lots of cash on! Amy is one of those sweeties that does all she can to support both, if asked nicely! :)
So because of this issue, that is why I asked when is someone going to help us out on previous purchases. Because if fitting a V4 into M3 clothes isn't an issue, then someone should do the same for V3. And BTW, the V3-V4 morph doesn't and never did work, and it definitely went the wayside with V4.1! It makes me feel like the issue was to make a new model that required more clothing purchases....not improved characters and flexibility! Besides, V3 is still a lot easier to morph and pose. Sorry she just is.
Boy, Sorry for the rant. OMGDDSS!!! My husband just said "Well, when V5 comes out...." I nearly slapped him! LOL!

Hi there!
This is what I did, got me CrossDresser 2.0 (free) + 1 license for V4
http://www.evilinnocence.com/xd/
I then bougth Netherworks V4 clothkit who lets me very easy put V4 morphs in the clothes
http://www.netherworks-studios.com/index.htm
The best thing with crossdresser is that you can convert clothes from many diff figures to the one youve bougth a license for.

Hi again!
Theres not so much of technique here, crossdresser homepage has a great tutorial, and Netherworks V4 clothkit comes with a pdf tutorial.
I find both very easy to use, converting clothing items takes all from 1 to 30 minutes in my experience, depending on how complicated the item is.
Just load up the clothing, start the conversion and go watch som telly.
Adding morphs is super easy since netherworks modified the python script used, I have that for V3 to but it was more work to get to the final stage.
The best thing you can do is go to their sites and check the products out, I have never regreted buying them both (cost about $30 total for what i needed).
I have converted clothes from Aiko3, Mike2 and 3, Vicky2 and 3 + some more, all so they fit V4 afterwards.
Guess I dont have to say it again how much i dig these two above mentioned products :-)

Wow! Now I am getting excited! I hope this is the answer to my prayers! It is hard when you invest money and BAM the figure is no longer the "desired" one! LOL! I started in poser almost one year to the day before V4 was released! :/ Crud! LOL!
ThanX Jonny!

I just looked through the licensed figures, and this looks like it'll do what I need it to.
I have a lot V3 clothes, and not much of V4, so now I don't have to buy a complete new wardrobe. Plus, there are V4 clothes that I have that I would love to fit to V3.
Do you know if textures will work after the conversion? For example, I have a texture set for Hellsing for V4. After I convert it, will that texture pack still work on the clothes? I am assuming so, but want to make sure before I invest in a lot of licenses.
FutureFantasyDesign posted Sun, 19 August 2007 at 3:26 PM
Oh Yes! That is important to know! How about texture to V4 and the reverse?
Boy Jonny! You are becomming my Hero(*ine?) LOL!

I just tried converting ta piece of the "Oktapussi" clothing set from Aiko to V4 using Evil's clothing converter, and it worked very well. Granted, this was something simple, but I wanted to see if it would be worth buying other character clothes. I'm going to try more complex figures, but so far, I am impressed.
As for mats, they will transfer over :D.
So, time to expand my clothing set

Hi again!
As ive said before, crossdresser is THE program :-)
It doesnt handle gloves very well, at least not to V4 (only license i have for now) other then that it does a good job, unfortunately it doesnt transfer morphs either but that got solved with Netherworks excellent product.
The first night i tried the proggy i couldnt stop, it was so cool to take a ww2 uniform for mike and make it fit V4 and so on.

Great as I'm sure these are, they are a PC only program. Is there things like this yet for a Mac user?
FutureFantasyDesign posted Thu, 30 August 2007 at 9:42 AM
I am keeping track here...I am "Down" for the moment, I own a Dell. And currently typing on an antiquated GX100 with 98! But as soon as I recover I am definitely getting Cross Dresser!
That's if I don't lose my mind before then! LOL!

Has anyone tried converting Miki or similar clothes over to Victoria, what about Aiko?
If so, how do they look?
There are some clothes that Miki and the Poser 6 and 7 characters have that I like. Specifically, I like the Scandulous clothes for Aiko and want to use them on Victoria 3/4 but don't want to buy them if they do not work.

I hear great things about Wardrobe Wizard... have it too, but didn't get a chance to use it.
I've seen some sample conversions in few thrads over in the poser forum... I think with a bit of search, the threads can be found.

Hi kanshinin!
Ive tried some dresses from Aiko3 to V4 and that worked out fine, one as i recall looked a bit funny but it contained a hat along with the dress so maybe I was pushing the program to far :-)
