Hello,
sorry if that sounds stupid but I'm puzzled.
I'm using Vue d'Esprit and downloaded a free Mat made also for Vue 5 d'Esprit.

But whenever I open the Material editor, browse to the new mat and try to open it
I get an error message: Unable to read this file
What is going on?

No problem reading it here in Vue6. Mauybe it was done if Vue5Infinite, but I don't see why it wouldn't open in Esprit.

I just tried to import several other materials....the same...it can't read them.
Maybe it's something with the installation? Will re-install again....sigh

You say you're using Vue Esprit, but are you using the "real" version, or a demo? If a demo, maybe it's normal.
Just a thought.

Hi Insom_Nia,
That mat is one of mine - sorry you're having trouble with it. It was indeed created in V5I, but imports into my V6I, and like Bruno, I can't see why it wouldn't import into V6 Esprit. I don't have access to V6 Esprit, but I've tried it in V5 Esprit and it imports into that.

Congratulations for your fine mat....I REALLY want to use it! 
But it seems to be a program error and nothing with your mat since
I tried to import different freebies and none would get past! 
I use a full version and even as I re-installed again already it
didn't help.
Next stop e-on customer support I fear....

What is the built number of your Vue copy? It shows when you choose " about Vue6 Esprit" from the Help menu.

There's a newer build number for V5 Esprit. The one I have is build 283512, but I stopped using that version some time ago and there may well be a more recent build than that. Go to the e-on site and get the latest update, and maybe that will fix the problem.

Ok, you need to update your version to 5.11 built285692, this is the latest version for Vue5 Esprit.
Go to e-on's website and download the update.
The freebies you downloaded were certainly created with a newer version than yours, which is why you can't read them ( no backwards compatibility)
Update your version, and you'll be able to have fun with your freebies.
