yes, as soon as i turn the camera on this is what appears also on the LCD screen...then when i take a shot, it sort of brings the same pinkish lines up more......Is my camera on it's death bed?

Is it an old camera ?? no more warranty ?

oh, i havent tried to revert back to factory settings....will that help perhaps? Or could it be the memory card, my camera is about 3-4 years old and the memory card is the original one that came with the camera, i think it's only a 15 meg one...

no it hasnt had a shock.....damn it's frustrating...lol

nope, if you can't access the menu of the system, the problem is may be just the lcd screen, so need repair but not too expensive (not sure about expensive lol)
if you can't access menu, and when you take a picture, the image is as you have showed, the problem is bigger and need a lot of repair, if repairable !

Did you get water on the LCD screen?
If you take the memory card out and read it directly on your PC, do you see
good images?
Is the battery charged?
BTW, what kind of camera (make, model) do you have?

Yes, do tell. Kind of a neat image, but I know that isn't what you want to hear.

It's the PSD !
Pink Screen of Death.
Sorry I havn't a clue - I would remove all the batteries including any back up one if it has it and the memory card - leave it a few minutes, put the batteries back and try it again without the memory card.

Could it be that this is an example of a severely shifted censor..? It actually looks like the censor got dislocated... If so, maybe all you (or the service man) have to do is relocate the sensor... if that's possible. Otherwise I haven't a clue either.

It might be the memory card, though it's probably the camera (A300?) that's the problem.
