I'm building a scene along a river bed, in the northern plains of the U.S. In much of the plains, trees ans bushes are scarce, but they do grow along river beds and other bodies of water. I've had to manually place all my plants and rocks, because I can't get enough placement control with the ecosystem (though the ecosystem function is why I bought Vue6 Studio Pro. ) After many many many hours of work, it's coming along nicely, but is there an easier way? I've tried adjusting the slope and altitude controls, but it seems no matter what I do I'm not getting my plants to hug the river's edge. thanks Brian

Have you tried the ecosystems paint tool?
If it's available in that version, I'm not sure, it's in Infinite and that's how I do it, with the paint tool!

Unfortunatley the paint tool isn't an option with this version. :-( That would be excellent. Thanks, Brian

If you don't have access to the Eco Paint tool, then you could always create a distribution/density map for the various plants. There are a number of threads on this here.

Ah! sorry about that, there is another way but it gives too linear a path and you'd still have to adjust manually.
I can't remember what it's called now and I'm in work so can't check but it goes something like this, You do a copy and paste of the tree and then I think you either use the * or the # with CTRL on the keyboard and a dialog box comes up asking how many you would like to do and it does them that way but it's very linear so you'd still need hand adjusting but it might work.
Can't think of another way right now!
