(I posted this question in the Poser Carrara thread, but it seems to have been trampled in the stampede of "dynamic hair/ clothes/ materials posts" If any mods want to delete my other post please do.)
I have an old version of Carrara and never really got on with the interface. I mainly use Poser, but after seeing some of the new functions I am thinking about getting it.
I was going to buy Syntheyes because it is the only Poser compatable motion tracker, however Carrara 6 although not able to do motion tracking itself can import them from a few programs. I have a motion tracking program that I got free on a magazine cover. What I need to know is:
It sounds a round about way of doing this but Syntheyes is more expensive the Carrara 6, and Carrara could be used for rendering, modelling etc while Syntheyes just does the tracking.

Thanks for the reply!
Looks like I'll have to get syntheyes instead. My motion capture program exports:
3ds max (.ms)
blender python (.py) (different from poser python script)
lightwave (.lws)
maya script (.ma)
softimage xsi (.xsi)
text file (.txt)
Daz mention mention that Carrara can use Syntheyes files (most likely .syncar ones which Syntheyes could export for Carrara anyway) and Matchmover pro, (not sure which of the file extensions that it exports Carrara will read).
Still don't know if the camera movement from Carrara can be exported back into Poser, it could be possible via Poser scene but then I think that some people have been having problems with camera and lights.
