I can't seem to create a rectangle layer on any object originating from the vertex modeling room. It works fine on primitives added from the assembly room however. I thought maybe it had something to do with uvs but I tried every possible combination of uv mapping and still no results. Adding shading domains didn't help. I even converted the primitive to a vertex object in the vertex room and it received the rectangle layer just fine.
Any ideas? Is this a bug or operator error? I'm hoping for operator error actually.
One other thing: while in the shader room, if I switched the preview to "Sphere" (instead of the actual vertex object), I could then draw and manipulate a rectangle on the sphere. If I switched back to the vertex object view, the rectangle would be there but was not resizeable or moveable.
Any help appreciated
John

having the same issue!! read above post, didn't even think of trying a privative.. my object was done in Hexagon then imported to carrara... so anything vertex can't be "drawn" om I guess. unless it has to do with vertex models having UV?
anyone?
Hexagon, Carrara, Sculptris, and recently Sketchup.

I got an answer on the DAZ forum that this is a bug and has been reported. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope it gets fixed in the next release.
