First If this is the wrong place sorry.

I'm looking for tutorials on making things like spaceships, guns, and the like. Getting a basic shape isn't that hard for me, it's what to do after that, that is getting me hung up.

Any help would be very much appreciated. The software dosen't matter, though I'd like sub-d if possible.
