Subject: A public Thank you to merchants including the V4 body morphs++ with clothing

PXP ( ) posted Wed, 12 September 2007 at 5:48 AM · edited Mon, 29 July 2024 at 8:39 AM

Over the last couple of months there has been a paradigm shift with V4 clothing products. A number of our talented merchants are now including more morphs from the V4 Body Morphs++ library and making them standard with their newly released clothing packages. For example the inclusion of the V4 Female Body Builder morph.
There are now more V4 clothing packages appearing daily that include the morphs++ and I applaud everyone of these thoughtful and courageous merchants for having the vision and taking the time to include them with their products. As a result of this paradigm shift EVERYONE now has the opportunity to use the product with their V4 creation without clothing morphing limitations. Atlast good product flexability is starting to take effect.

Until quite recently the norm has been for clothing products to have a limited number of V4 morphs. The restrictions are largely based on outdated concepts of 'What the female form is supposed to be' and the argument that by adding the V4 body morphs++ will make the package file size too large and that it takes a lot of work and is too time consuming with little or no reward at the end of it.
From the point of view of the work and time I can see the argument but you are either willingly making a product that can be used by everyone and without morphing limitations or you are unwilling to take a risk and use your time and effort to make something that's useful for everyone to buy?

If you were in the music business you would know that it's ninety percept risk most of the time with no cast iron gaurantees of success and that making a commercial music production has to include every recording effect and facility that's in the book plus perhaps having to hire top session players to help make it a winner and then you have to have good publicity and get air plays, doing anything less, will be in most cases a gaurantee for a flop. You have to believe in what you are doing. If its just to make money and you are deliberately cutting out this and that and slimming your product down because of the work you have to put into it then you are only going to reach a limited number of buyers.

You need only check whats currently on sale here at Rosity and elsewhere to see that there are now a lot of successful V4 clothing packages which are using the V4 body morphs++ and selling.

So I say to all the merchants who are being courageous and making the morphs standard with their clothing packages, a big thank you from me.

I agree.  Congratulations to all the merchants embracing V4 ++ more fully.  Hopefully this is not a trend but a standard!!!

I'll add my voice of thanks to these merchants as well. While at the moment I still work with V3, the support for V4's morphs is a crucial factor in now making me want to spend the money on V4's morphs, textures, clothing, etc.

May I ask a beginners question? (I use dynamic clothing, so don't know this)

  1. If you morph the body of V4 the way you want it, then conform clothing (that has the same morphs you changed on the body), does Poser "sense" this and automatically spin the dials on the clothing to match the morph of the body?

  2. Once you get the morphed V4 and the conforming clothing the way you want it, if you decide you need to morph the body in some significant way, will the clothes also automatically morph the same way?

or....do you always have to spin dials on the clothing to fit the morphed body?

....and in all cases, gratitude to vendors who include all the V4++ morphs in clothing. [Hey, I purchased and have been using the muscle morphs....are those appearing in clothing?]

It all depends on how the particualr vendor created the clothing item. Some prefer crosstalking, when the morphs in the clothes automatically follow the morphs in the figure, some prefer allowing the end user to dial the morphs himself. Usually it is not more work than applying the same INJ pose that was applied to V4 or simple copy/paste of the body state to the clothing item in case you dialed the body shape yourself. Of course we are talking the pre-made morphs here, custom made morphs are a sublect of completely different question. > Quote - 2)Once you get the morphed V4 and the conforming clothing the way you want it, if you decide you need to morph the body in some significant way, will the clothes also automatically morph the same way? or....do you always have to spin dials on the clothing to fit the morphed body?

Same goes here :) All depends on how the merchant coded the morph channels in the clothes. Crosstalking morphs will follow whatever changes you do to the figure shape and for other clothes just choose the BODY part of the character, click Ctrl+C, choose the BODY part of the clothing item, click Ctrl+V :D > Quote - ....and in all cases, gratitude to vendors who include all the V4++ morphs in clothing. Most merchants include the morphs they have purchased the magnet fits for, or the ones they have patience to fiddle with manually :) You can also purchase the magnet sets and apply them to the clothing item to create the morphs needed to you :) Michal 4blueyes
