Adobe released an update of their raw plugin, and it now suports the 14bit Canon (40D etc).
It's a 4. plugin, and I tried, but it's not supported by CS2 (I'm shure they did it on purpose).
You need eiother CS3, Lightroom (with CS3, I'm not shure) or Elements 5 for it.

Not much of a problem for most of us I guess.
An alternative for CS2 users (and others) is Bibble, which still is independant from Adobe. (that acquired not only Macromedia, but also the RAWshooter technology).
