Deviantart is a perfect example of how a community should not look like. You have to be a 12-year old and part of the r0XX0r-generation to make something out of it.
Although i´ve found an old buddy of ours not to long ago. Or more correct, he found me. :)

Rendergods (the irc) is still around, even if the web based client for it no longer is. I'm there enough, but I fear others may have become bored with my antics. Who knows? Either that or there's a lot more going on offline that everyone has to worry about. (In other words, having a life like A.S. and Zhann apparently are.) If you catch me when I'm on or not browsing elsewhere, I'd say something. (Or if I'm awake, on the chat, and browsing, my nick/name is flagged in chatzilla and saying it will make my taskbar blink.)
As far as drac/viva? I think his new thing is hi-res photography. (But probably by no means giving up the 3D completely.) So to cover one hobby, it's necessary to cut back on another... Bandwitdth costs, and to move the big photos online - the 3D stuff has to find a new home... Or at least that's what I'm suspecting. (I haven't caught him to hear it officially yet.) I'm ok with it though, I suspect I may find new opportunity by moving my little bit of content elsewhere.
As for deviantart? I've got enough communities to follow already, dunno if I could keep from thinning things out too much (if not so already) by adding deviantart to the list. (My multitask-fu is only yea strong.) Might stop by or something at least, but dunno about maintaining a presence. Not to mention I'm finding rochr's comment about deviant a bit funny. It's too late now, since I've seen /b/-tardation spreading to elsewhere on the net. Dang stupid meme stuff is contagious and pervasive like lol-cats, kreepy clowns, anime, and the sort.
Your friendly neighborhood Wings3D nut.
Also feel free to browse my freebies at ShareCG.
There might be something worth downloading.

Well, I use DeviantArt only becasue it is way eaiser to upoad than here. Unless things changed here... Some of the people on there are good, but like Rudy said, 12 year olds. Stopped by digitalLights. No RenderGods chat link. But his photography is great. Nice to see everyone again.
