Visit the Carrara Gallery here.
First ! when you buy it you get Windows AND the MAC version !!
You have to adjust your setting to show both of the OS versions in the download.
Second I have C6 Pro and i love it it has potential as the "poor" man"s 3DMax
for the offer you can get now its worth every cent.
It cannot repleace poser for now but you can do so many things in carrara that it will become your number one soon ....
Just for the cool things with lights etc etc etc you cant do in poser C6 is worth it
Im loving it more and more each day ...

Ps i realy just setup in P6 and render in CAR6 or Vue6 i hardly render in P7 or P6 at all..
Edited for a dumb typo

Just extra info
Poser 7 is not suported by CAR6 .. you can load stuff from P7 but to work with full Scene PZ3 suport true "transposer2 C6" that you have to buy too" you need to work from Poser6..
What i did is reinstall P6 ..setup in P7 and after saving it i load it into P6 and save it again... that work fine for me.. when you dont have P6 you can import the obj, figures etc etc them self and work from that in CAR6..

the lighting options and rendering in C6 is far worth the price to me
i still pose stuff in poser, and work on some basic material designs that carrara doesn't have the control for, just rendering them as a lone background, then use it as a texture map, works nice
but i doubt i'll render accual scenes in it anymore, just pose stuff, dynamic hair/cloth, export to C6, add the lights and materials, C6 has fire and water primitive :) and render
PXP,
I'm a firm Carrara supporter, I think it's a great program! Carrara 6 has the POTENTIAL to be a first class 3D suite and it's native use of Poser and D/S content (along with Transposer2) is a great addition ot an already good program. That said tho, Carrara 6 has some serious bugs! I use it mostly for modeling and the Verstex room has some problems that cause me to go back to Carrara 5 in fustration! So don;t think your going to buy a perfect program, or you;ll be on the biards ranting about being "ripped off". I fully expect DAZ to correct this problems in a service release shortly, at which time the price will probably go up on the package. All that said, I'd recommend buying it now to get the discount and bear with the bugs until the srevic release comes out, in the long run I think you'll make out better for it.

Poser 7 is not suported by CAR6 Is Poser 7 supported by Daz Studio? Why is Daz Studio able to open my Poser 7 files correctly, and with blinding speed, while Carrara chugs and chokes, spitting out the objects and cr2s in bizarre locations, if at all? Seriously, I can't understand why Carrara 6 Pro can't be at least as competent as Daz Studio in the way it handles Poser files. (I'm not sure why the open GL has to be inferior to Daz Studio either, but that's really the least of the problems.)

Carrara is up with the very best of the ALL ROUND "complete" 3D apps. Is there any app--other than Blender!(If you can work with it's UI)--that is a more comprehensive, easy to use, value for money app?
Be serious---Poser etc are only handy "Plug Ins"!!!!!! (Who would actually "work "in Bryce, D/Studio, Poser etc once they have become familiar with Carrara?)
You should see the list of 3D associated apps on my desktop that I NEVER need to use!
You can percieve that I am a Carrara fan!

Without wishing to repeat a question thats probably been asked here before but I can't seem to find an immediate and satisfying answer.
I am seriously considering purchasing Carrara Pro from DAZ3d and taking up their 65% discount offer, I know absolutely nothing about this software. I can buy this for either the MAC or PC whichever is the most appropriate and possibly the best platform.
My purpose is to use Carrara as a substitue for Poser 7 to do posing and renders. Poser is driving me nuts what with its crashes and freezes and slow performance even on a dual core PC.
I want to use the sets and props etc. that I have aquired from DAZ, V3, V4 etc. and from Rosity and other places.
I have a large library of hair peices and clothing and many light sets and shader products so I am obviously nervous of doing this.
What I need to know before I jump into the deep end is will there be serious problems using existing Poser software packages with Carrara Pro and getting them to install and work as they do in Poser 7? Or will they work fine? Also could I use existing Poser scenes that I have already made?
Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.
