Subject: WOW! What a difference in View Counts!

I've only been posting my free items here in the forum for the past two months and linking the posts to my Gallery. Saturday I actually submitted 5 of my freebies to the freebie section here and nearly tripled my views on those items in just the past 17 hours that they've been available in the freebie section. People really aren't reading the forum here as often as they check the freebie section are they? What an eye opener!

If I need something in particular I always check the freestuff and do a search for it.  And yes, I do that more often than I visit the forum. :D

Matrixworkz - if someone surfed the first freebie from here, then collected the rest from your sharing webpage, the freebie hits here at Rendo may not reflect all the downloads happening.  So, they could be even more popular, eh.

Haven't you ever heard of Keyboard Condoms? 😉

Oh I understand that completely but when i saw the download counts here after only the first 12 hours or so of being online in the freestuff here, i was amazed.  I just wasn't aware of how low the forum readership was compared to how many people puruse the freebies section here. It was an eye opener.

condom: n.1. The protective plastic bag that accompanies 3.5-inch microfloppy diskettes. Rarely, also used of (paper) disk envelopes. Unlike the write protect tab, the condom (when left on) not only impedes the practice of SEX but has also been shown to have a high failure rate as drive mechanisms attempt to access the disk — and can even fatally frustrate insertion.

  1. The protective cladding on a light pipe.

3. keyboard condom: A flexible, transparent plastic cover for a keyboard, designed to provide some protection against dust and programming fluid without impeding typing.

  1. elephant condom: the plastic shipping bags used inside cardboard boxes to protect hardware in transit.

  2. n. obs. A dummy directory /usr/tmp/sh, created to foil the Great Worm by exploiting a portability bug in one of its parts. So named in the title of a comp.risks article by Gene Spafford during the Worm crisis, and again in the text of The Internet Worm Program: An Analysis, Purdue Technical Report CSD-TR-823.

Matrix sorry I cheated you out of some hits, as ^that^ is exactly what I did.

MatrixWorkz posted Wed, 26 September 2007 at 10:41 AM

LS, that doesn't cheat me out of hits. I get credit for each page of mine viewed on that site independant of how many hits I get on this site. Thanks for looking.

That's too bad!  I LOVE reading the forums!

BTW the 1 - 2 % that read the forums surely do make the forums look quite busy/popular and if that's just a percentage of the total member number then that means that renderosity has a lot of members!
