...BTW - come on over to the US. The only thing that you'd have to do would be to talk. You'd find yourself instantly the center of attention pretty much anywhere that you went. English accents are très chic over here, and a ticket to a certain amount of social notoriety.
I know. I had an American gf a while ago and we spent some time in Dallas, then OK City.

Next thing you know you'll be rendering Naked Vickies with Ginormous Boobs, it's a slippery slope my friend
LOL! Hardly, I just happen to think she's beautiful. Sure she's got some attitude, but I like it. She reminds me of one of my Tatoo'd ex's in that respect. To each their own. I just happen to like her better than Ami. She's young still, she'll get over the attitude with age.

Yes......I think that's the reason why some of the folks from the British Isles that I've known and worked with in the past didn't want to leave here after their contract time was up. They came to like the attention. Which is certainly understandable. I've known Scots, English, and Irish -- they all get pretty much the same reaction over here. It's usually a very positive one. There aren't many Americans who genuinely dislike the Brits. I've known one or two: but they are actually quite rare. Mostly, an Englishman in this country is an instant minor celebrity -- without even trying.

I read that and for a couple of very confused seconds I was picturing your sister getting a horn removed from her forehead... Hahaha, it's been a long day
Speaking of tat designs and your avatar, Khai, I know of a girl on one of the LJ DW comms who's intenting to get the Seal of Rassilon on her bod somewhere. I think it'll work well.

Oh and I meant to say:
I was once with a guy who had a lot of tattoos and had originally had them all over his arms including on his hands and knuckles.
They were all homemade jobbies from when he ran on the mean streets of Kilmarnock...
Anyway he turned corporate and the company told him he had to have them removed or he could not be considered for a managerial role. So he had them taken off. He said it was incredibly painful, far worse than doing them initially, and they left really bad burn scars behind.
That was way back in the 80s though, so it's good to know things have moved on.
I haven't got any ink myself, but I've flirted with the idea. At one point I was dead set on having the Metallica logo on my upper arm, but considering how crap they've gone now I'm glad I didn't!

other than this, i find her quite pleasing to the eye. Edited to make the point I think she would be a lot more attractive without the tats.
Now Pixie would be pretty hot if she got rid of those dimple studs or whatever they are.
Quote - Back to the topic at hand LOL. Kat Von D....... Hrm. I dont mind tattoos at all, I dont have any, but my husband does. Some are lovely. its not the tattoo thing that bothers me. She's pretty, physically and visually so I guess. Its her attitude. I dont actually watch much of the show, the commercials alone for it tell you all you need to know. Her voice? It could be nice, if she didn't do that "I'm a sexy ho" type hushed whine when she speaks. its like that lazy ditz drawl that has nothing to do with where you come from.
Just dont find anything really appealing about her.

Yeah, Ami is far too angry. I love Chris Garver. I think getting tattooed by him would be very zen. He seems to exude that type of energy.
I think the problem with Kat is simply that she's been told constantly how awesome she is (with regard to her tattoo work) that she's begun to believe it. But hey, that'll happen. I've no problem watching LA Ink each week :)
I agree about getting your first tatoo somewhere is can be covered by clothing. As a general rule, most tattooist's won't tattoo necks, hands, visible areas unless you're self employed or work outside society norm.
I have pink and grey flames on my wrist 3-4 inches high, but even those can be covered with a long sleeved shirt.

Kat is really young too, isn't she? I forget the exact age, I do remember being floored when I heard just how young she was... like 22 or something IIRC. She's got a lot to learn, especially between now and I dunno, 27 or 30.

As for Tat's, that wasn't really what the thread was about, but I'm used to thread drift and hijack's so whatever. My last BF was all gahgah over tatoos and had his share. Everytime I think I want to get one personally, I just can't think of any image important enough to me to put it on my skin forever.
Hrmmm... I wonder if Kat would like to be Poserised?
It's hard to discuss someone like her without discussing tattoos -- as that's the thing which she's defined herself by.
It would be like talking about Tiger Woods without talking about golf. Or talking about the Clintons without talking about politics.
There's much, much more to say: but it's all guaranteed to light fires. And this isn't C&D. I might put it in a blog. If I ever start a blog.
I agree that she's big into Tattoo's, but that's not all she's about. She's a heavy rock chick as well which is what greatly influences her self image as well. In anycase, I didn't start a thread about a beauty to incite a flame war over tattoo's and their merits. I understand it's September and all and everyone's starting in on their fall SAD episode's and such. I'm just trying to keep mine upbeat this year.

Not a bad goal. September's almost over in any case.
