So, the project is to emulate 1940’s – 1950’s portraits. Does anyone here know of a good site for reference? And would anyone have their own examples? Poses, lighting, camera settings, ect. would be great.

Left hand side? Humm...will think about that one.   We may be all right after all, even if left handed.   I will also check out the websites, whilst my mind wanders from the left to the right of the road.  Thanks for the links.

Awwwwwwwwww never mind Marlene I'll buy you lunch at the NPG (portrait gallery) when you are in London. Superb collection and great lunches too 

I bet someone, somewhere, has the perfect camera, just languishing around in a wardrobe, for taking really authentic looking 1940's style portraits.

Yeah, I live in the States.
Kansas.

I have a Polaroid Land Camera 100.
2 packs of Color film
2 packs of B&W film

For some odd reason, they still make the film....

I'd more than likely use the Polariod, or my Canon.

I'm thinking a modern look on old portarit styles....
