Let me preface this by saying that I already know how to model, texture, rig, and animate a model.
I am looking for the most convenient way to bring custom characters into Poser/DazStudio/Carrara 6 Pro. I am already familiar with the necessary workflow needed to do this just using Carrara 6 Pro. However, I would like to make the models work in all of these applications.
Does anyone know if Green Briar Studio's Poser Toolbox would be very beneficial in accomplishing this? Or would I be better off trying to rig the new character within Poser?
Also, I have Poser 4. Do the later versions of Poser have better tools for doing this? I am not presently interested in creating dynamic clothing, only custom characters and conforming clothing. So would there be a good reason for me to upgrade in order to accomplish these tasks?
Thanks very much.
Darren

Hi Darren, To work in all programs, the figure needs to have poses mastered in Poser itself. Studio and Carrara read Poser files but do not export in formats that Poser can use. Mark

Umm, either that's not true, or I am misunderstanding what is being said in the description of the product. Here is the text directly from the product description the Daz website:
*ToolBox supports Conforming, bone parenting, morphs and the full set of Poser joint controls, all editable.
You can create Poser models from scratch, or import obj files created in Lightwave, Cinema 4D or Maya and finish them into Poser rigged models in ToolBox.
You can import, create and export animations in the Poser single or animated pose format (including Mimic files) or Poser or standard bvh amd convert between them.
Since ToolBox writes directly to Poser formats, small changes can be quickly made, saved and tested in Poser. ToolBox will write directly to your custom folders underneath Poser so you don’t even have to restart Poser to see changes to your models.
It looks to me as though the product does export Poser figures, poses, animations, etc.

My mistake. I thought you were asking about Carrara's capabilities regarding exporting a rigged character for use in Poser. Haven't personally used ToolBox so I can't comment on that one.
