Woah WTF!!!! I'm thinking that's not a cat. I think it's a crossbreed of somekind. A Lynx maybe.

Yeh, I came across this on another forum, seems like a lynx or whatever they have in Russia. Who needs a guard dog huh!

On Finnish tv-news there was a story of a russian guy who had some kind of small bear as his pet... and they lived in apartment house in downtown:) Nice neighbours!!! I agree with the Vodka.

Hmmm... back about twenty years ago, there was something from South America that was popular as a pet... as I recall, it looked a lot like this, but maybe not this big..... eventually, I'll remember the name. Lou.

Yeah it does look like a Lynx/Cat mix of some sort... or it could be a chernobyl mutant.

And whats with the naked lady in the tub?

I remember that story of a guy in New York, who had a fully grown iger living in his apartment. Nobody knew until he had to go to hospital after the tiger got a bit too playfaul and injured him.

The fondness for the bathtub could be a clue... not easy to get the majority of moggies to take a dip. I bet they've got an impressive hen/catfish bill...

that ain't a cat.....

Rosemaryr posted Sun, 21 October 2007 at 9:22 AM

Definitely not lynx or lynx-cross....no characteristic ear tufts. Even the Eurasian lynx has 'em. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurasian_Lynx Looks more like a jaguarundi crossbreed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguarundi

I went to Babelfish and translated the heading over the picture and this is what is says:

"Khuyase CAT (PHOTO) 18:36:05 fish cat - rare animal, is introduced into appendix II CITES. The weight of 15 kg, length only is more than meter, a height of 40 cm."

So Judyk's link has correct info.     :)

Nice looking beasty but I'm not sure if I'd want it as a pet!

No way am I going to clean out it's cat box!

skiwillgee posted Mon, 22 October 2007 at 6:37 PM

South American cat was Ocelot.  Was considered an exotic pet.  Allowing this biggie kill its prey might be only way it agrees to survive captivity.

Well you would not have a mouse problem, I'd hate it to get too playful though.
