jenstar,
I hate giving this type of reply as it is seen as stating the obvious but have you tried a google search. I just tried it myself using "second life clothing templates" as my search criteria and got numerous hits for downloadable templates as well as tutorials.

Jenstar, why don't you ask your friends in Second Life? I think the people there would know a lot more than people here would.

You would think that they would but they don't. Hundreds of people are trying to make money in fashion. Those who have high knowledge are making money and don't want toshare the "secrets."

Yes but this is mostly a Poser community...

The point is that we suspect this community is where the best Second Life designers are getting their resources from. The big secret is how and what are they doing with resources from these websites? People would pay to find out.
If you look at www.slexchange.com (a second life shopping website), you will see avatar clothing that resembles the type of clothing you see here for poser. The designers claim they draw the details onto templates in photoshop. Perhaps they do but it doesn't seem likely to me because there are so many of these "designers."

I've never heard of Second Life, so just went to have a peek. The prices look really high! Do people actually pay that sort of money out?

Some guy in the beginning made a lot of money selling virtual objects. Now everyone else is jumping on the bandwagon. BTW, Second Life is free to just chat.

I think I found their "secrets" from a link on the main page: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clothing_Tutorials

I am one of those guys that makes money there ...lol and im not a guy:P
As for How to get finished looks and templates.... try one of the resellers ingame there are a couple people that sell full perm items that are not the everyday business in a box but unique and limited to group acess only. Quality items that you can sell or use the tga files to work from in photoshop if you wish. This is a new form of resell, Contact me for more info I wont release the list here publicly because it is an invite only group and a singned legal contract is required to gain acess to the files.

Also regarding people using items from this site to make clothing which is actually harder to do then creating from scratch ...some do but the BEST ..DO hand draw along with using baking techniques from maya/lightwave ect...and actually there are about 4 million designers and only about 2 dozen that are considered elite. To be honest most (not all) of the great ones choose not to use services such as sl-exchange or onrez., when you can set up a single location and bring in an adverage of 500 -15,000 usd per day....why would you need to share your profits with a pay service to allow people to find you easier? The BEST, will be found with or without those sites so most of the great ones choose to keep thier money.
sorry fo double posting but edit time ran out:P
