7 SKULLS A-SCREAMING Despite the tremendous appeal of horror and sci-fi media, our most frightening monsters have always been real humans who commit amazing acts of atrocity against each other. Perhaps that’s why our skulls are so scary. They remind us of the monster within each of us, waiting to be unleashed. And they remind us of the times when that monster is most dangerous-- not in moments of anger or passion, but instead in those moments when we are calmly, lucidly, deliberately, and creatively evil. When we finally make contact with intelligent life from beyond the stars, there will be many wondrous things that we can share with them about our history, our technology, and our culture. But how can we possibly explain, let alone justify, our frequent need to construct and fill-- mass graves??!!?? I hope y'all are still enjoying the series!! Dr. Zik

I think that our skulls remind us, not of the monster within, but our mortality - and that is what scares us, ans why we consider the undead mostrous.
