Hello Folk,
I'm creating a series of fantasy-scifi stories happening in a parallel universe far far away,
and I'm naming the series as either Galaxy X or Galaxy One.
The civilizations there (on the three main planets) are about 100 ~ 200 Earth years ahead of the planet Earth.
I wonder which name sounds better ? GALAXY X or GALAXY ONE ?
Your inputs are appreciated !

Hmm yes I imagine a future civilization might be arrogant enough [like humans] to name their home galaxy, "Galaxy one"

3DVim,
Do you mean the title of the series, or the name of the parallel galaxy?
If it's the title of the series, either one sounds cool;
if it's the name of the parallel galaxy, "Galaxy One" sounds better to me.

I mean the title of the series / story.
Thanks!

Galaxy One is what I'd go for too.

devil's advocate - if you're comparing more than one Galaxy, I'd go for Galaxy X (or even Galaxy 2..;)
Galaxy One sounds like a car to me, but I'm not quite right in the head...;)

it would be called galaxy1 in galaxy 1, but it would be called galaxy 2 in galaxy 2 IMVHO, as the residents of each galaxy jockeyed for position. i.e. the residents of each galaxy would call themselves galaxy 1.

Isn't Galaxy X the one after Galaxy IX but before Galaxy XI?
3DVim posted Mon, 29 October 2007 at 9:53 PM
It's X after W before **Y . **

You could have a lot of fun with the font of Galaxy X

Galaxy X sounds like a classic pulp SF story. Galaxy 1 sounds more like modern SF. I guess it's all down to the atmosphere you want to convey.

If it is anime, then definitely "Galaxy X", or maybe "Galaxy Z".
