Title says it all really - I'm on the lookout for some "Boris Vallejo" type armour for either V3 or V4.  For those unaquainted with his stuff, see http://www.imaginistix.com/details.cfm?Id=416 for an example.

Thanks

Frank

Frank - Oh boy, I'm with you on this one. That's a great example you've shown there, sexy!! It's at times like this I knew how to model.

Armour! What armour? You can't call that armour, it wouldn't protect her from anything **LOL

**Nice pictur though

Almost looks like it could be done as a second skin.

Marque posted Mon, 29 October 2007 at 8:03 PM

Except for the helmet of course! I would love to see some stuff like this.

I was thinking about a second skin but I do most of my renders in Vue using SkinVue and I'm not at all sure how a second skin would look

I was going to the apple store last thurs and a lady had a white plastic breastplate over her clothes that looked like armour, so I asked about it, and she said she'd suffered an injury to her spinal cord.

It's meant as a distraction, how can you swing a sword at someone wearing as little as that?

I might have a go at modelling something - there's hardly anything to it so how hard can it be ??? (I deeply suck at modelling at the moment so this should be interesting . . . )  Then I have to figure out how to make it a Poser figure thingie - err this could end up being a bit of a nightmare

I think 90% of us here are aquainted with Vallejo's art. Funny how the same sort of people who like poser seem to like his stuff. Love esther PS can't help you with the armour.

Making it into a poser figure is the easy part, just import it to Poser, scale and position it with you figure, parent it to the figures head and then save in the Props section of the Library. The hard part will be modeling it from that tiny picture. I wish you the very best of luck and look forward to seeing what you can do.

An easier way to do it, imho, would be to texture an existing bikini with transparencies making the straps thinner & a nice bit of bump (sorry) mapping for the swirly bits.

I've been thinking along similar lines - I don't think my Hex skills are up to the job but I've got some interesting stuff in my wishlist which might help

Try Baron Vlad Harkonnen's site. I don't think he's got anything that matches the headgear, but he has a number of inexpensive fantasy armor that provide similar skimpy armor and bangles. Xurge3d would be another site to try, though his female armor is often more practical.

There is one on Vlads site that might do - it's for V3 but I imagine a bit of fiddling would sort that out.

My (free) Armor for V4 looks a little like that. Might be useful.

I had thought of using that one but I'm not sure dynamic is the way to go in this case.  I'll have a play though and see what I can come up with

Oh, not everything is dynamic. Only one version of the cape (there's also an EasyPose version). The rest is conforming, with all V4 standard morphs, and there's also a nice bunch of tricks on the chest armor (using internal PointAts and EasyPose chains).
All items are separate: chest harness, chest armor (two versions: straight conforming and EasyPosed), thigh plates, codpiece, sandals, greaves, bracers, thigh straps, capes (two versions: conforming EasyPose and conforming/dynamic hybrid), plus a bunch of props (helmet, buckler, sword, scabbard, daggers and scabbards).

grin I realised that when I downloaded it.  I even managed to get it to conform to a seriously morphed V4 using that python script so I think we have a winner !!!
