I tried to fix it by cleaning up some things, as windows acts funny sometimes after this sort of thing happens. I first cleaned up all temp files and cleaned out cache files and deleted items. Then I ran defrag and rebooted. It seemed to work fine then it started acting up again. SO I reinstalled my poser, all the updates, and all my runtimes. That didn't seem to fix it either.
Oh and the pc I use for my poser projects is not connected to any internet, it is specifically for poser only, it's never been connected to the internet and I don't use it for anything else so I don't think it can be a spyware or virus issue.
That PC is pentium 4, 1.5GHz, and 512 RAM. I know I need more memory but it hasn't been a problem. The only thing on it is windows 2003, poser 6, and a CD burner to transfer my stuff to my computer on the internet which is at my mom's house down the street :/
The above snapshot is what it looked like after I did everything I could think of to try and fix it. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any suggestions?

Have you tried resetting your poser preferences located under "Edit" and "Preferences"? If not, change it to start in default. Look under each tab because there is a second tab that has something to do with start up preferences. Close poser and reopen it.
If that doesn't work, reinstall Poser. It won't overwrite your poser content that you have installed.

You should think about getting a UPS (uninterruptible power supply). They're a little spendy, but if the power goes out you have time to save anything you're working on and shut down your computer. Plus, it's not a good thing to have your power shut off while the drives are spinning.......

Thanks for your input coldrake, I have thought about it, very much in fact. It's just money is really tight right now, struggling for mortgage payments etc. I have put some aside here and there so hopefully when my situation picks up I can do that. I don't usually have a problem with the power here, it's only happened maybe twice in the last 4 years.
