Subject: Can anyone tell me what this is?

I think the picture explains itself, it shows up when I load the medusa snakes from the 'Zygote creture pack', but you can't click on it, it doesn't show up in any of the hierarchy's, and it doesn't show up in a render, so what is it?

Are you using Software or Hardware to preview ?

Try Sree3D istead of Hardware acceleration.

lol, knew that, but why does it show up?It's not a big deal, but it's just annoying.

As for the acceleration, you mean in Poser or windows?

Inside Poser - in poser 7, I believe it's one of the Preference tabs

lol, went and opened the file and the thing was gone... go figure, oh well, thanks for the tip anyway, so what is the difference between the two previews? Hardware is the obvious one, so I'm guessin the other is software based?

Yes. Sometimes the scene looks better previewed using software option, other times, with hardware. And for Hardware option, you can choose whetehr to use OpenGL or not.
