hi.. I wonder if someone can help a little...

I have used Poser 6 since it came out, and now I have tested Poser 7, and my maschine works much faster now compared to render in P6..

I wonder about this:
I always make shader nodes and characters in P6.. I now want to delete whole Poser 6 from my computer and just work with P7.. Is it the same to make shaders, and pz2 files in P7??

Will shaders made in P7 also work in P5 and P6??

this question is within the scope of the regular poser forum. there are some very helpful users there who can supply a multitude of links to describe basic poser operations and functions. the materials functions in poser 7 are very similar to P6, and it's likely any mt5 collection made in p7 will work in p5/6, altho test it first by retaining P6 in a separate folder, along with its runtime. do not delete P6 unless absolutely necessary.

As Miss Nancy said, only single (MT5) materials will work in everything from P5 to P7. Material collections (MC6) will only work in P6 and above. I'm not sure, but there may well be some node types that were added to later versions; these should be avoided if you want to retain compatibility. I don't have a list though. Hoping someone else will...

I have had trouble converting to P7, specifically regarding DAZ Figures, got a refund, and then something...; and now just have P6 and P7 installed.  The P7 Figures are new; and I could just use each Runtime as an External Runtime, on the ohter Installation.  And there have been issues like this, with past versions of Poser, that needed SRs to fix; so maybe having our fingers crossed that each version does indeed instal seperately is a good idea?

:tt1:

If you do try and economize memory, please be aware which of your Runtime folders you are actually copying over; I would only copy Geometries, Libraries, and Textures. And the prefs folder, and some other .XML files; caused problems, for me, through versions.
