Hi guys - it's been a while since I was on the forums.

I have aquired an old copy of Poser 4 / PRO that I'm going to use only to rig figures of my own design for DAZ STUDIO. I need to know how rigging is done since I can model my butt off but have never rigged before - I NEED TUTORIALS FOR BEGINNERS!
any help would be appreciated...

There are a series of video tutorials posted on YouTube for rigging a figure in Poser as well as working in the Joint Editor, search for Poser and see if you can find tutorials by PhilC. Might be worth checking.

I already did - but they moved kinda fast for me.
As I understand it thus far:

Create your figure (in this case in wings or Make Human),
assign your material zones (body parts)
import into Poser.

and then "somehow" get it into the character setup room?

that's as much as I know thus far.

it;'s been reposted here about 5000 times.. buy the book "secrets to poser figure creation" by BL render from Amazon.com it's invaluable.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

I've save the tutorial pages to my favorites Mystic Knights - thank you.
Gareee - as far as buying the book, I appreciate the idea - but for now doing so is functionally impractical because #1, I'm financially strapped right now - and #2, I need to have a basic outline of what to do and I don't have time to take a college course.
Much appreciated nonetheless...

Daz should have at least one tutorial in their area. I know Geep's got one, probably more than one..;)

Also, look for Quinlor, who has a 'wings to rigged poser figure' type tutorial on his site. Soup to nuts...;)
