Here is an interesting modeling program in Beta and Free until it goes public. There are downloadable tuts to help one get the direction of the UI.

Does 4D Blue do texturing and/or uv mapping? I find texturing to be the most frustrating part of 3D modeling...

Opps.. just checked their website and looks like it supports UV mapping....
