Please let Sam know that he's in our thoughts.

i have a friend who gets bronchitis almost every year, and that's horrible enough. i can't imagine pneumonia bad enough to require a hospital. i hope Paul gets all the rest he needs, but don't forget about yourself. it's no good you getting so worn down from caring for him you get sick, too. then we'd have to send some sort of renderosity care and rescue party to look after the both of you. and then there'd be a whole lot more crazy (or at least silly) people for you to deal with. so it's probably best if you both just take it really easy and make sure you get all the rest you need.

Yes, I'm trying to learn how to walk very slowly and carefully. I seem to have non stop tremors at the moment. It's annoying.
Didn't need saline in hospital. I drink lots of water anyhow. Don't use much salt in my diet. Just add a little to things as they cook, never use it as a table condiment.

No fun having pneumonia because it takes so much out of you. Then you still are going tru more for weeks or months after your better as you know now.

You're not kidding. I'm still thinking I'm Superman but my body says, "Nope". I went into town yesterday for the first time since I got out of hospital. Still getting over that.
Kinda like Ozzy Osbourne says... "In me head I'm still 17 but my ass tells me I'm an old man now". Not great but oh well.

Yea it sure kicks your butt. I had walking pneumonia in 1982 or 1983 and was working on new homes out of town. To save money I would stay in a sleeping bag in the units that got hot water and gas for heat before they were ready to move in. Saved lots of money and had a small 13" tv so it was great and I gt a great write off on all gas, food etc. But was having to take my boots off all the time because subs were going into the units with mud and getting it all over the new carpet so the was cleaning the carpet so it be wet. Then going in and out all the time like that got to me. I stayed there two day before I said I need to go to Kaiser to see a doctor. So too the 145 mile drive back home and then my dad took me. I was so sick that it did not hit me that Kaiser was all over the place and they had one right down in town where I was working. Said to take 3 weeks off work but I took a weel and went back because I was making so much money back then I did not want to take to much time off. But I was never the same after that. It takes so much out of you and maybe if I did what the doctor said I would of been better.
So just do as the doctor says and take it easy because your not 17 and may not ever get all back to being the same as you was before getting pneumonia.

Oh yes. You're absolutely right.
However, I am doing some things to improve my health overall. First thing, quit smoking. That's a definite. I don't ever want to go through this again. Second thing, more exercise. Gonna take up cycling again (not been on a bike for years). Third thing, join a gym. I used to be in good shape before I started flying a desk.

Just don't start it all at once.... give your body time to adjust to the changes! :)
Good to hear you're actively making changes towards a healthier lifestyle!

Glad your home and better, was a bit of a scare when I first saw the thread!
Take it easy and don't push it!
Seems men either go one way or the other, they are either VERY inclined to take it easy - OR
VERY inclined to push it : /

You sound like me because I need to do all those things to so I will feel better but have not so am out of shape, smoke to much, high blood pressure.
But when I had the walking pneumonia I was at home and smoked the whole time still and that was a killer. I smoked less but still I was doing what I should not of and I bet you could not smoke in the hospital.
Hope you can do all that you should and need to do. Plus look at all the money your save from not smoking.

Hey Paul
Glad you're on the mend! You won't recognise this user name but I was DigitalDreamer until the system screwed my account; still trying to sort it out! Looks like you will be sorted before I am!
