I have a couple of poser objects, both in pp2 and cr2 formats, that when used in poser are designed to be in predetermined locations; mostly they're buildings, etc.. designed as part of a scene package. Is there a way to make them show up in the right place when I open them in Carrara?

Drag it to the model or part of the model in the instance window, not to the assembler window. Need to work this way.

The problem is, though, that while that seems to work for smart props which are parented, it doesn't seem to work for props/cr2s that have built-in offset coordinates and thus aren't parented to anything but shouldn't load at 0,0,0 either.

One example I can think of would be the furniture in the Home One series......

This has happened to me for a couple of props, most recently the Dream House rooms from Daz. When I drag them into the scene, they don't line up. However, I then noticed that if I move the Hot Spot on each to 0, 0, 'whatever', they then line up like they're supposed to.
This , at least, worked for me in this instance.

News to you! To place almost all props in place just drag it to the instance window or over the Scene word in the intance window and it will be placed in the right position. A friend told me this after a little talk, so thanks to Naomi for this trick!
