Christmas is around the corner and soon there will be many sites offering up Christmas goodies for us to download.

I thought it would be nice to have a single thread where we can post links to sites that are offering Christmas freebies.

Please help keep this thread updated by adding your links :)

To start I'll add Valerian70's link.

CG Realms

RDNA Previous Years:

2003
2004
2005

Anyone have the link to 2006?

Ok, I tracked down RNDA's Gothic Christmas 2006 link.  This is for Day 13, but the other 12 days are linked at the bottom.

I managed to get registered at the Poser Magic site. I use Mozilla-Firefox and I had to white list the site in my adblock area, plus give my firewall permission to access the site.

Click on "Registration" on the left.

Fill out:

User Name
Email Address (they accept gmail addresses but not hotmail)
verify email address
Password
verify password
type in the funny code letters shown.
add birthday   day/month/4 digit year
gender:
Poser version

Scroll to the bottom and accept (button on the left)

Wait for an email. Click the link in the email.

Then click on "Kalendar" at the top of the page.

You can then pick between their Advent Calendar or Nouschka's.

I don't know what you consider "worth the bother." I like freebies and appreciate the time put into each and every one of them and to me having to work around a different language is no trouble.

Unfortunately their Advent Calendar only allows you to download the current day, so I missed 17 days.  The 2 that I did manage to download so far were a V3 character addon with morphs and textures, and a package of 4 gorgeous fantasy backgrounds (ocean/beach with light house,  forest, etc).

IMHO it's worth putting in the effort to register, because they put in a whole lot more time and effort to create the items for us :)

So what happen to you before you registered?

Nothing. I didn't know where to click and kept going in circles around their website and couldn't find the page to register. I wasn't taken anywhere else.

So how did yor register like you said in the above post?

After I used google to translate the site so I knew what words meant, I managed to register without a problem and I wasn't redirected anywhere.

On the next page, scroll to the bottom.  The "Accept" button takes about 10 seconds to show itself.  Click it.

The next page you enter your details.

You have to fill in each area which I indicated otherwise you keep getting errors about missing fields.

If you do happen to get an error, use the following link to paste in the text of the message error. Paste it into the large box and then uUse the drop down to pick "German to English" and then "Translate".

Scroll down and click "Register"  You will be sent an email to your address with a link for you to click on to acivate your registration.

After you have verified your registration,  click on "Kalendar" at the top of the page. You can then pick between their Advent Calendar or Nouschka's.

Then is says...

PoserMagic accepted my new gmail account and I had no problem downloading the latest item.

While looking for Japanese Christmas sites, I came up with nothing new, but did find a few new downloads that I didn't have any maybe others don't:

**UPDATE

**If you downloaded Britta's hair from Gift #1 before today, Dec 23, you need to get rid of the old obj and cr2 files and redownload. Somehow I managed to test the right files and package the wrong ones and the hair wasn't loading for everyone else. All is fixed now though.

Sorry about that...

The problem with all these wonderful gifts is where to store them. I have multiple runtimes on an external hard drive and it is almost full - and it is a 500GB! This is shameful, when you think of it. I had to order another external drive. If I had all the money I spend on Poser I know I could buy a new car and then some. And all the freebies!!!!!! I never realized how addicting Poser and 3D could be. It's as bad a gambling, LOL!

the3dgm posted Sun, 23 December 2007 at 10:36 PM

Amen to that!

gagnonrich posted Sun, 23 December 2007 at 11:50 PM

I just tried it at somebody else's house and it's working now. The links only go back to the 15th, so maybe that's when it started or maybe there's something odd about the site.

Those are wonderful freebies, though they're not new, and aren't the special holiday ones - those only lasted a day, then the price went up for a few days, then another was offered free...except for one that ended up still being a great price at 50 cents

Our Xmas freebies at PlanIt 3D will be live until the end of the week, and I've just added a couple of New Years gifts in our Members Downloads forum.  Unfortunately you do have to be a member to get the New Years gifts, but the Xmas freebies remain open to all so if you haven't grabbed my Poser Industrial set and all the other great gifts you still have time.
