We have several threads right now that are not too serious. I love that as it's a good way to get to know eachother in a relaxed way.
My question is: just suppose Santa or or father Christmas or whatever you call this guy would bring you one thing, a deep, deep wish, but realistic!!! and into photography, what would it be? Or what would you put on your lsit for her/him to choose from?
Being the starter of this thread, I have the honour to be the first: I'd love to have a Canon 9000 or 9500 pro printer (with a decent stock of ink catridges!) and a Canon300mm f:4.
Apart from those two wishes, I have no real photo-wishes.
Yes...a van to live in and go from one beautiful location to the next one, with a gasoil tank that's always full, and some beautiful places to visit that I can't reach by car, meaning outside Europe (Angkor, Utah, some places in Australia, New Zealand, Bali,...) but that is not what I meant with this thread.
So what are your dear wishes?

Tomorrow, December 6th, we celebrate Sinterklaas (Saint Nicolas, the one and only original Santa). Depending on how much bad things he wrote about me in his book, I would be very happy with a brand new Olympus E-3 DSLR and an Epson Stylus Pro 3800. Thank you Sinterklaas..!

babuci - Check out Santa Fe Workshops
The Hindu winter holiday was back in late October, but I'll happy ask Lakshmi to bless me with a studio with 20 foot ceilings and a two-bedroom apartment right above it, maybe even with a rooftop garden on top with a good view of the city. While I'm dreaming, can she stock the studio with a few Profoto lighting kits?

Well as I got a new camera this year and haven't got anything for it apart from a new bag to keep it in I guess I would like to ask Santa for some lenses...

Nikon 70-300mm VR
A nice macro lens

I have a rather realistic set of xmas ideas... only one of them santa coughmy parentscough is wiling to get me (the cheapest of the lot i am thinking ):
A nice tripod - yet to research that
580ex flash, and maybe a 430/420 as a slave
sigma 2x teleconverter
some stands / equipment for setting up props etc.
And a partridge in a pear tree.
But yeah - mainly the ability to be able to get out and take shots and then not geting RSI spending too much time on the computer would be fine by me ie. good health :)

Well, we are not wealthy and finances have dropped a bit (temporary I hope) so if a photo thing comes my way it will have to be from Santa! : ) A studio would be quite nice a surprise.
Other than that, my primary wish is for better health and to be able to give some joy to those who don't share that blessing and outlook in life.

Dear Santa (St. Nick, Quanza-bot, etc...) I could make a list a mile long of computer and camera equipment that I'd love to have, but I'd be the most happy if you could give me the one thing I don't think you have in you magic sack of toys -- TIME! I'd love to have the time to explore and travel and take photos of whatever I want whenever I want. That, and that everyone has a happy and healthy holiday with loved ones...

Dear Bringer of Gifts, the new tripod and a good macro lens I can get myself, so please, please, pretty please with extra sugar - give me snow during the nights around Christmas eve, and clear blue skies and sunshine during those days. I am soooo hoping for weather like that when I would actually have time to go out and explore the marvels of winter. :-D Oh, and Santa, while you are at it - find me some gloves that will keep my fingers warm while still allowing me all the fine-control I need over those tiny buttons and wheels on my camera. :-D

Fun thread...:)
Easy choice for me to narrow down a long list of never-ending goodies to add to the camera bag:
#2 choice... after returning from a trip where the birds were always too far away, a 500mm or better yet, a 600mm lens and a sturdier tripod
#1 choice... the ability to look at photographs I admire on this and other sites and telepathically be able to instantly soak up all the talent and skill it took them years to acquire to get those beautiful shots!
...and besides maybe a little snow on Christmas Eve, my sincere wishes, as well, that all my Renderosity friends have a Happy Holiday Season.

**Dear Santa,
I would love to take some photography and graphics classes... And endless supply of ink and photo paper, one of those cool 'input' mouse type thingies I saw at the store (looks like a pen). A lens adapter and the telephoto lens for my camera. LOL. I better quit being greedy!
Merry Christmas! **

Dear Santa-
Realistic - a Lensbaby 3!
Somewhat realistic - a Nikon D3!
Just plain fantasy - a Hasselblad H3D fully loaded!
Every year I ask for the 20th Century Fox Corporation - no one's EVER come through on that one... I'm starting to think they don't care about me... (sniff sniff)

well, gee. What an interesting question. I think I would wish all my friends here that amazing shots just drop right in front of them (grin)
And to I have only had my Pentax K10 for a few months. I also have a hubby who thinks you only need a camera that costs about $100.00 bucks so I am trying to work with a lens from my 35 mm Pentax. I would wish for a macro lens that really works with my camera!

Let's see..... since I'm already getting all the accessories I need from Hubby Clause, I think I would like to go to the Photography school in New Mexico and a framing school in Idaho (I almost went there a few years ago and now can't afford it). Other then that I feel blessed that I live in such a place where I am surrounded by beauty and that I have the time and energy to get out and take the photos that I do!!! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!!
