For several years I have had a PC which ran Windows 98 second version. It ran my Poser 4.0.3 correctly. But a week ago my PC suffered a derangement in its systems and I had to replace it. And my local computer shop (PC World in Old Trafford in Manchester UK) had recently stopped selliung Windows XL PC's, so I had to but a PC that ran Windows Vista.

Which versions of Bryce run correctly under Windows Vista? Where in Britain can I buy them? I would prefer to receive it CD-ROM's and the manuals on paper books, not to have to download and print out everything.

So far for me, Bryce 5, 6, 6.1, all work well with the Vista's I use (home premium and ultimate).

Me too, apart from a little screen corruption everything works fine.

I have Bryce 6.1 running on Vista Ultimate and the only problem I seem to have is the same old blacked out import of meshes that seems to be a 6.1 specific phenomenon,( they import with all materials into 5.0 without problems). So far, other that that, Bryce 6.1 is ok with Vista.

As far as finding Vista in your neck of the woods goes, I'm sure any computer store that sells computers and software would have it...the manual might be questionable, though, very few software manuals are provide in print form much anymore but instead come in PDF format on the disk..

Anthony,
Good to hear from you! You might try the free  version of Bryce 5.5 from DAZ or  CNET sites. Personally I'm staying clear of Vista AS LONG AS I CAN ! !
Good programming (and rendering) ! !

there's several flavors of Vista, just to make it interesting...sigh..;) which one are they offering? I've had some Vista online training, but haven't actually played with it that much, yet. Seems overly security-conscious...;)

Wish I could help, but I'm actually running Windows 2000...;)

5, 5.5, 6, &6.1
That's w/ 64-bit Vista. Bryce doesn't benefit from 64-bit; but it doesn't hurt it either.
Bryce 6.0 and up are multi threaded. The multi threading doesn't work for the host computer when you use Lightning, Bryce will only recgnize one CPU on the host. The multi threading works fine outside of that.

EDIT - I guess I should say that is how Lightning behaves for me. It might be different for other people.
