I am using the PLE and VUE 6 Revealed by Richard Schrand. While working through Lesson 4, Chapter 2, the Basic Material Editor is referred to and shown. However, I am not able to, or can't figure out, how to access it. I get the Material Selection screen but  not the Basic Material Editor.

I thought the PLE was fully functional...but maybe it isn't ?

If anyone is familar with the PLE perhaps they could help me out.
