Attached Link: Today's Freebie... Grandma's Feather Bed...
My Grandparents lived in a hollow in WVa. in the 1950's.. No running water, no electric, no gas. We lived in town with all the modern conviences so there were lots of things during visits to there house that left a big impression on me. One of my favorite things was the spare iron bed with it's feather tick mattress. It was the comfyest bed I ever slept in. The bed comes from a childhood memory so may be far from the original.. Tables, lamps etc.. are also included. **Happy Holiday's!!**

Models built from childhood memories are the best.
My grandma had a table and an oil lamp precisely like this one....
even though she grew up in NYC with all the modern conveniences,
she preferred the oil lamp by her bed.

That's beautiful ockham! I'm always amazed how different a furniture model looks once it's in a room setting.

Wow you was lucky to have a feather mattress I guess. I was about 9 when mom got at a 2nd hand place this very old double bed that my sister uses today still. But it can a straw mattress.
Thanks for the bed. :)
