Ever since we changed to the new site design, when I post  something in the gallery, and do a writeup, I can't seem to get apostrophies, or quote marks, or elipses. When I type them they look fine, and even when I preview the words they look okay, but when I actually post, the punctuation marks turn into weird symbols.. Will someone tell me how to get these to work? Thanks - Carol

Is this on older images or very recent images?

Can you post a URL to one as an example so I can take a look?

Actually it's all the new images. (it also did it with all my old images - everyone that had apostrophies, quotes, etc, it changed them into weird symbols or question marks ?) I don't really have an example because when I see all those weird symbols I edit my post and take out all the punctuation that is causing the problem. Like I said, it does it on ", and ' and ....  turns them into some kind of strange code that shows up instead of the punctuation.  So instead of being able to write words like don't, I have to change it to do not.

I've seen other gallery postings where people are using this punctuation just fine, so I can't really understand why I can't.  And I've also seen this code thing happen on others postings, as well..  If you need an example, I will post something, then make a copy of how it shows up.   Carol

I looked at my gallery again and now it's putting a ? in place of apostrophies, quote marks, elipses, etc.   Example:   Another in my �Spirit of the Wild� series,

�Spirit of the Wild� in my browser. some kind of unicode problem. "'this php forum software allows one to use them'"

I just posted an image and took a copy of the symbols that appear when I type 'Spirit of the Wild' series - it looks like this  âï¿1⁄2ï¿1⁄2Spirit of the Wildâï¿1⁄2ï¿1⁄2

When I type Hug's - it looks like this -  Hug�s

I'm not seeing any weird stuff on your notes in your gallery images? Can you post a specific URL to an image that you are seeing it this way on?

I must be missing something but I checked your last 5 or so uploads and see nothing strange?

I edited it and put the '  on each side of the title to see what I would get and it looks right now huh?

I'll have to ask the programmers what might be causing that upon upload for you.

romance, if you edit the image and try to correct the boxes, then save, does it correct like it did for me or you still get the boxes?

Thanks Unicornst, for posting the sample. I've been gone all day and am just now visiting the forum.
Stacey - I have corrected most of the problems by removing apostrophies, and other punctuation that was a problem,  and that's why you didn't see the weird symbols in my posts. I have tried going back and editing and it still makes questions markts, etc. but I'll try again. And thanks for having the programmars check this out. Appreciate it.:o) Carol

**No problem, Carol. I've seen the same thing on tons of items in the MP as well, so I figured what you were asking about. Hope they get it all fixed soon.
