Well I have never run into that before. I would suggest just uploading uploading the br5/5.5/6/6.1 .....which ever flavour you use to that slot and if it's over th 10M limit zip or rar it up...I never really noticed that box when building the contest and am certain I didn't select it as it says nowt in the rules 'bout it so am assuming it's there by default. Let's humour the machine and try my suggestion...LOL.. ...

**skiwillgee:
**odd - it occurs to me I haven't entered a challenge in over a year so I'm no help ; well best of luck. I wanted to say that the image you posted definately capures my imagination!

Problem is the two dialogue parchmentts (terrains) were rendered in bryce5 (actually part of another image I did long ago that I simply changed the camera to to render the parchments only) and the dragon scene is bryce 6. The three were layered in PSP as post work. I'll try to upload again when I get home from work. I'll include the PSP file along with the image.
If that doesn't work I might can import the two dialogue parchments as 2d plane and re=render the whole thing. (not looking forward to that because of additional time needed to finish it and I would lose the feel of the overlaping dialogue not truly part of the scene)
tah tah for now.

This can't be right. There is no way you have to send the scene file.
It's just a monthly forum competition not something with a prize of $10,000. lol.
I can only think it has been set up wrong!
dan whiteside posted Fri, 21 December 2007 at 7:45 AM
I agree - that can't be right. I've been doing the challenge for years now and it's always been just the image and the thumb.

Sorry Bobby - didn't mean to sound like I was dumping on you! Good idea to post up a dummy file. Thanks for all your help - I do appreciate it!
johnyf posted Fri, 21 December 2007 at 12:37 PM
Hey Bobby...same goes for me. Things have definitely picked up since you arrived on the scene!
bobbystahr posted Fri, 21 December 2007 at 1:56 PM
Cool..I felt no dumping on me...just a mild confusion, but thanx for the apology...Now let's get some images there....I could extend this till the 31st if there's enough demand/requests....I'll leave this option open till the 22rd and see how many requests and in the mean time I'll enquire how to extend the automatic closing date.. ...

If you have to upload the scene file - I'll have to bow out of this - my bryce scene is already big and getting bigger all the time - no way I could upload it.
Otherwise I'd have voted for the extension to the 31st... sigh.

Fran...I think any old br whatever*[ even just a terrain saved as your scene's name...but somewhere else so you don't over write your work]* under the 10 M limit will do...just name it the same as your scene...we won't be looking at them or comparing and that box will not appear again...LOL.. ...

Oh right. I see. I think.
In that case I'd like to reiterate my request for the extension - with greater force!
Oh and do we post wips as we're working on it, or just the finished scene image?

well if you're looking for help a wip in this thread would be O K I guess but I'd rather see em all on the challenge page finished personally.. ...

No not for help, it's just that on some contests/challanges we usually post wips to show our progress and on some we just post final renders with wireframes, so I wondered which this was as I don't very often go in for the Bryce challenges.

Fran, now that we are getting back to a degree of normalacy, the challenges in this forum have been just a post of the final image, thumbnail, and brief (25 words of less) artist comment.
We posted finished works to a tread when AS disappeared to keep the things going. Now Bobby has it under control.
Wireframes haven't been necessary in the few years I've been here. So kick that 'puter in high gear. The deadline approaches. It has been extended twice. Merry Christmas!

Ah I see. I guess I'm confusing the Bryce ones with the Wings ones - which I have occasionally been able to enter.
I'm not sure I'll be able to enter this one since I'm not ready and we're travelling tomorrow, I've done quite a lot of work for it but it still doesn't look good enough to me.
