***A nameless stream trickles slowly over a gravel bed, cutting through the grasslands. A narrow bridge, a simple thing of planks, crosses it precariously, giving the mercenary captain a way to cross from his own battered, but comfortable tent, to those of his men. Those small bivouacs huddle tightly about the campfire and the huge cooking pot, whilst the men lay upon their sleeping mats, or pick through the few meager supplies packed away in crates and barrels.
