Martin, the descriptions make me think it is meant to sell to less experienced photographers, or to net sellers who happen to have a digital camera.  This is not a criticism of the unit, just the marketing approach.

If the tent works well, I imagine good shots can come from it.   The tripod supplied is likely too weak and not solid enough for real steady work (having see one appearing just like the one shown).  But then, I doubt you are looking for the tripod in the first place.  

Since I am often forced to use a sandblasted upside down plastic tea pitcher with a hole in the bottom for a diffuser at work...I could certainly use something better but the company will have to foot the bill in my case.         Tom

I agree it looks like a toy, like the toy it's 'holding'...

Suppose you've gotta start with something somewhere... But it seems a bit much to pay...
