I was about to buy something, but internet explorer told me that the website is fraudulent and should close the page. Apparently, their security has been shut down or expired. That sucks, and I am surprised this happened to DAZ3D. I guess we should keep out from that website for now...

I was just there browsing around with Mozilla-Firefox. I didn't buy anything, but I didn't have problems roaming around the site.

I used firefox to try the webpage right now, but I got the same message. DAZ's security has expired. The message appears when you want to access the cart or the page prompts you to sign in. I'll restart my computer and try again (the browser's probably being an a-hole.)

It's just that time of the New Year :)
I use IE7 and had a warning about the security certificate.
Many sites don't renew when they should, and this happens. Basically it's just someone didn't get the email out in time. I'm certain this will be cleared up SOON :)

Looks like their certificate expired a couple hours ago.

And at the beginning of the weekend ;)
It's been reported via the contact form.
The only effect of an expired certificate is that you get browser warnings or other visual cues, there's no effect on the secureness of the connection.

This might sound like a silly question but do they have to pay for the security certificate?

Yes you do have to [pay for a security certificate which is why a lot of small, independent Poser sites will only accept payments via Paypal rather than credit or debit cards direct through the site - Paypal chages are significantly lower than paying for the necessary certifiation for an SSL.

No probs - I had a quick google and looked at the costs to refresh my memory

No doubt there are better deals to be had out there but it does give you an idea of the sort of costs involved. Not that that is likely an issue for the likes of Daz or Renderosity (for example).
