I'm thinking of getting Carrara 3D Express just for the landscaping abilities. My main app is Cinema 4D. Anybody have any experieince with it?
Does it export terrains, plants, rocks, etc? Since I'm using it soley for landscaping, it didn't seem much different in Carara 6 or Pro for what I need.
Any advice?
Thanks...

Get the free Carrara Pro 5 from 3D World mag #100 instead. More powerful.

Yes it can export plants and terrain. To export full trees you need to active the full details.

Does Carrara Pro 5 work on an Intel Mac? I haven't seen it on the stands yet in the US. Still see last month's and the one before.
Well, is there a main difference in the landscaping capabilites, because that's all I'm really going to be using it for.

Carrara 5 Pro has the surface replicator feature which is similar to Vues Ecosystems. Carrara can replicate 1000's of tree instances which is something I miss in C4D, I am quite sure Carrara express doesnt include the Surface Replicator. I would go for Carrara 5 Pro from the 3D world magazine, it is a full featured 3d app which is fairly strong in the landscape area.

Yeah, I did a little more searching, and indeed, Replicator is not in Express, so I will wait untl 3D World hits the US and buy that and upgrade.

About C5 working on an Intel Mac, I don't know as I am not a mac person although I know C6 does. With C6 you get displacement painting as well which is a cool tool to create terrains with .

I don't know if the DVD has a hybrid install of Carrara.
February 9th is when 3D World mag #100 is expected in US bookstores.

Well, I'm not on 10.5 yet, but I'm on an Intel Mac. Will C5Pro run on an Intel Mac?
I'm probbaly going to go for the 3DWorld C5Pro, then upgrade to 6.

Is issue 100 January 2008 or February 2008? The 3dWorld site does not list issue numbers.
