* "New & Old". This is pretty open to interpretation.*
"New" could be an unopened present, a shiny new watch, a newborn baby, a sunrise which is the start of a new day, a plant just breaking the surface of the ground.
"Old" could be an Old house, something discarded in the trash or forgotten in an attic, maybe an Elder rocking on a porch.
*I thought it was just the prize catagory for new and old versions of Bryce.......

There are 2 Prize Categories,[ means entry catagories] Yes you guessed it, "New" for Bryce 6 users, and "Old" for Bryce 5 and previous version users. Be sure to note in your comments what version you used to create the image because the winner in each category will receive a Prize.

bobbystahr posted Fri, 25 January 2008 at 4:04 PM
What doesn't make sense ?...there are 2 catagories...Old for every version up to 5.5 and New for Ver. 6+
In my previous post only the [bracket words] and bolding are mine...it is basically other than that, verbatim from ICM's post.
Any thing, scene, abstract, etc. you want, done in the "Old" version or the "New" version....those are how the Challenge will be judged and the two catagories to enter under...it's about the Bryce version and not the age of the object.. ...

*But to recap the OLD refers to versions up to Bryce 5.5 and the NEW refers to any version after that[ Bryce 6-6.1]....these are the submitting catagories and also the judging catagories .
The choice of what you render in those versions is totally up to you.....I think ICM is trying to get a Challenge going that is of a comparative nature tween old and new Bryce......that's the way I read it anyhoo.. ...

OK.........Here's the Scoop.
"Your Image" can have anything in it NEW or OLD, or as some have mentioned, a combination of the two(new and old - Example; Old fart holding a new baby).
Does not matter which version you choose.
The ONLY bearing the VERSION has, is what category the Judges place the Entries in.
I wanted the playing field to be fair, and Bryce 6 has some advantages over earlier versions.
PRIZE ONE (category) for BRYCE 6
PRIZE TWO (category) for **BRYCE 2-5
**
Comon....there are only 7 entries in so far, and less than a week to go.
Please remember to List your Version in the Description.
There's still one with no version....If there is no version listed, I'll try to figure out which was used with my amazing powers of observation and then place it and judge it in that category.
ROCK & ROLL!!....Um RENDER

The thing that threw me, and others it would seem was the entries so far... one has to see the opposition doesn't one.... and they all depicted as far as I could see, a new and old theme. But if you say anything goes and it's just the versions that matter in new and old, count me in. i'll have a render for you within a couple of days.
