Take a look at this, to see if you are left or right brain oriented.

I started seeing it going anti-clockwise but then suddenly it was going completely the other way!  Weird or what?

i couldn't get it to see any other way besides clockwise.. try as i may..even by tilting my head...damn bugging...

i'm completely right brian.. so darn right brained that i have friends who turn into my left brain and think logical for me.. no joke...

I found I could make it change apparent direction of rotation at will.
Does that mean anything?

probably that you can think with your left brain..ie..you can think logical and rarionale when you wnat. ie..you do use two sides of your brain. :-)

A more likely explanation:
The Brain runs an internal check on sides. The Brain decides that neither side really works all that well. The Brain becomes confused and the 'rotation autoconfig' crashes. The Brain transfers rotation control to user input, as a workaround for the faulty autoconfig.
That was supposed to be fixed in Brain 1.1 update; but I guess I'll have to wait for Brain 2...

When I watched it I always saw it as clockwise. If I scooched down on the page then back up in the middle of a turn I sometimes saw it counter clockwise.

I'm left handed and I was told that it's always the opposite side of the brain that is dominant and controls the hand. That's why when lefties are forced to use their right hands they sometimes stutter.

I'm a lefty and proud of it. When I started school at 6yo the teachers had just stopped beating on kids for using their left hands by hitting them with a ruler or worse.

Strange thing though, I use my right hand to operate the mouse.....! And yet when I'm driving a car....we in the UK drive on the correct side of the road..I feel really at home because the gear stick is on my left as are most of the controls (stereo, A/C and stuff).

I saw it cc - looked away to the blurbs, diagreed on the "big picture" dealio; infact I was a little angry at that one as I know a few exclusively right brained people and know they don't "get it" any better than I do, so looked back and to my suprise it was going the other way. Now that I'm emotionally uninvolved again it's going cc (again) ... or perhapsit's the fact that the TV is blaring out that "MoonStruck" movie with Cher. It gots Dino sinking out "When the mune hits yer aye like a big piz-a-pie that's a - mor - e" and Cher making the guy go down on one knee in his Armoni and giving her his pinkie ring to seal the deal . . . so naturally the figure was going clockwise the whole time. Oh man this movie is so lame . . . the only memorable line in the whole thing was: "and then there's copper - it costs money because it saves money."  Meanwhile back on the Fox network some chick-flick "... and he's so different from all the other boys . . ." and so on and so on ... I know what you're thinking why aren't I watching old Magnum Reruns and trying to figure out who really is Robbin Masters instead of some boring old movies who would rather explore the economic ramifications of plumbing (and baking) than provide the watcher with truely mindless entertainment . . . In that case would the figure refuse to move at all?  
OK, ok, I use my left hand more than my right, but I don't think that makes me right brained anymore than watching a bad Cher Movie makes me Goy(or am I confusing her with Barbara Streishend(s.p.)). I yam what I yam, wot? 

I first saw it as going clockwise, and then I was interupted by a phonecall from a friend asking for some technical information . When I looked at the monitor again it appeared to be rotating counter-clockwise.

started clockwise for me, then I looked over to read what that meant and it was going the other way. I got it to change back and forth a few times, but not really at will, lol. Maybe I'm a no-brainer.

Ok, real stupid question.. but which way is clockwise? For me the dancer turns left or right.. around a vertical axis.. How should i relate it to the rotation over a horizontal axis of the arms of a clock? :-/

Looking at a round clock ...the hands go to the right...around the clockface from 12 to 1 to 2 etc.  and around to 12 again...that's clockwise.  the opposite/backwards way is counter clockwise.
to the right...clockwise..
to the left...counter clockwise

I guess to relate it..you would have to be looking at it from the top of the moving figure.

Heh yea that makes sense. It was the rotational axis that threw me off :-P when imagining looking at the top of the figure it suddenly makes sense.. i must have been suffering a lack of coffee

Hmm.. It took me a while to figure out..
Basically, sometimes the figure turns a direction for just a moment, probably less then a second, then switches direction. Other times, it just starts steadily going one direction, and thats it.
I also tried to see if I could re-orientate the rotation, and it took me roughly 30 seconds to figure out i can indeed switch direction at will! But, only if I use the shadow/figure movement to re-orientate myself. If I dont use the shadows movement as an additional aid, I cant re-orientate.

Rayraz may be too young to actually see in operation a non-digital clock.

For me is was instantly CCW but as I read the descriptions it swapped to CW.  Then I could make it go either way.

I knew an engineer once who appeared to be extremely right brained - at least all the welders had a hard time with his 'prints. I think a certain amount of that is necessary though because there is an art to design. If you ever saw the lousy 'prints I made before computers came along when I was taking mechanical drawing in high school you'd puke.LOL  We were so bad at it that I firmly believe it was only by 'bribing' Mr. Jones with a fifth of gin that we all managed to pass the final in senior year.  (It didn't help that I'd broken my index finger on my writing hand in football practice the year before.)

This is so strange. It seems like I've always been able to 'see' the 'inside' of things even though they're not visible. I've never had a problem visualizing in 3D. I'm amazed that some people can't do this.

Just pulling your strings.  I know someone with the depth of knowledge you possess knows analog clocks, but with the trend toward digital it may not be long before kids will not know the connection between a direction of rotation and a time piece.

Mars must be a strange place to live. Most of the woman I know (Included myself) Are good at this, but the boys I'll tutor for math have no clue about it. This doesn't mean that woman have/are more spatial warness, but generally accepted?

Boekenwuurm: I meant no disrespect to yourself or women in general. I know many women who have no conception of spatial awareness, my wife included who still thinks that she can pack the same amount of shopping into a car that is half the size of the one we had last year!

It's understandable that the women you know are good at this if we consider that you know women who have the same interests as you. (Bryster puts his Escher-logic plug-in to good use)
