Is there a tutorial that tells how to prepare the files?

What kind of character morph is it?
If it's dial settings on a Millenium 3 character or Victoria 4, you can distribute a so-called INJ pose file that injects (for M3/SP3/V3) the required delta files, and sets the dial values. For figures that don't depend on injections, you just need a pose file that sets the correct dial values.
If it is a custom morph, created using magnets and/or a modeling program, you'll have to make a "delta pose file" that contains the morph information along with the dial settings.
If the character is for V3/M3, you use my SpawnCharacter script to generate the pose files.

The materials (skin/face textures etc) are easy when you're working with Poser 6 or 7: just save it as a material collection.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter

It's a dial setting on a Millenium 2 character. Your information helps me alot. Now I know what I have to do.
