It's been way too quiet around here lately, so let's set our minds to a challenge. It is nearly Valentine's day, so the challenge is to write a lyric love poem. Lyric poetry is simply poetry that reflects feelings rather than telling a story, and can come in many forms. Choose whatever form you like, a sonnet, haiku, free verse – I don't care; but come up with a love poem by February 14th. So, dust off that keyboard and start typing! ~jon

Amethyst & Rose's ,
Love & Trust ,
We started on mutual ground ,
Then all turned to rust.
I looked in your eyes,
You looked back at mine,
Smiles were exchanged & good conversation ensued,
We looked up at the cloud's , things were bliss,
Then came the word's that caused a split.
Oh my love , If you knew how I felt,
I'd continue this life without a doubt,
Watching those cloud's turn to felt,
Pasting random images of life turned to delt,
.... Whatever happened , I am left in delt.
Heh , This is a new random writing of the spur of the moment , Is slightly drunk & V-Day brings back a lot of bad memories , So enjoy comment , Hate me , rate me , Hey somebody complained it was to quite here :)
Tc all , Peace , Hope ju all find some special loving this 14th!!!

Sure, you can repost. I see no problem with that.
I'm looking forward to all three of your entries, and hope for more. Before anyone asks, sure, you can post more than one.

Since there were no rules posted I'm sure that this is fine. There are so many facets of love that there must be many different ways to see and remember it.

Love
They said to
Write about love
Because it’s almost
That day
That day when
All we talk about
All we think about
Is love
It’s impossible not
To think about love
Because it comes at us
From all directions
They tell us
Buy some candy
Buy some flowers
Buy some gifts
But they forget
What love is
What love means
What love wants
Love is deep
It is great
It is powerful
It is wonderful
When you have love
You’re on top of the world
When you don’t
You’re at the bottom
So all we can do
Is find love
When and where we can
And take it
Take it and embrace
That person
Who gives you
The love you want
Who gives you
His feelings
His heart
And his soul
Love him
Give him
Your heart
And your mind
Share your life
Your dreams
Your body
Your soul
This is love

These are the vows that I read at my wedding this summer. A Traditional ceremony on the rez.
A Vow
Great Spirit wrote your name on my heart
before it's first beat
Your touch was on my skin
before I could feel
Your song filled my ears
before I ever heard
Your smile shone in my eyes
before I ever saw
Your desire was known to me
before I knew want
Your dreams were mine
before I ever slept
Your love was deep in my soul
before there was time
Your Spirit is connected with mine through Eternity
I Love You

Love Endures
J. M. Strother
Love grows strong
Over time
Sinking roots deep
Joining kindred souls.
While boughs may crack
And leaves wither
The heartwood remains
Solid
And endures.
Thank you all for participating. I've read and enjoyed all of these. The thread remains open, for additional contributions.
Happy Valentine's Day, all.

Gorgeous, poetic work here...I loved reading these. I'd contribute my own, but as of now, I have nothing to write. My head's still wrapped around other stuff, including a gnarly piece of science fiction that only cooperates with my efforts to write it PART of the time. But I'll be around, and if something pops up, I'll definitely write it down! I love the stuff here though, great vows and observations! Fantastic, heady stuff!
