I just noticed the Poser F.A.Q tab at the top of the forum page. It says 'Last updated June 30th 2004' and sure enough when you click it there's all sorts of useful answers for questions regarding Poser 4 and pro-Pack.
Has nobody since half-past 2004 asked any questions regarding P5 P6 P7 or the cloth and material rooms? No questions about shader nodes? Nothing about the differences between Vicky 3 and 4?
O.k it does state in large type at the top of the page that the F.A.Q is 'Under Reconstruction' but for four years? Who is reconstructing it? Dork? They built the Millennium Dome in under three years. How hard can a F.A.Q page be?
Just a suggestion but how about tagging Acadia's full page thread of newbie tips onto the end of the F.A.Q? It covers some of the V3-V4 question as well as providing links to tutorials on cloth and material rooms.... and it might save us all from having to scroll through it every time someone asks a P5+ related question. :)

it's impossible to do the FAQs here IMVHO. anybody who gets involved and tries
to do more than acadia's collection of linked threads will soon find there's no way
they will have time to keep an huge FAQs list up-to-date. the only workable solution
is for newbies to just ask the same questions over and over again, as they're not
gonna read any FAQs in any case, nor are they even gonna search this forum for
a question that was aksed last week or last month.

However, if Acadia's wonderful list were set up as a 'Sticky', then Acadia
could still update it easily and newbies could be told to read it.......

Well I am one of those "newbies", and I can say that I only ask questions after I did my research but could not find a answer.
So the "ask whitout search" is not for all newbies
The search option is your friend, same as google.
But what I would like to see as a sticky is indeed the great links from Acadia, and the home page of DrGeep.
So far, I have learnd the most from those two, and they are a absolute must for newbies.
Recomended reading for a 3D Padawan, so to say.

I wonder if the forum staff could give Acadia and Geep unique
permission to post in their own 'sticky' threads, so those items
wouldn't get cluttered up by other comments...?

I hope so, the info they give is realy a great help.
When I started new here, I saw the date on the Poser FAQ and didnt even bother to take a look.
If something is out of date that much, I hardley beliefe it contains usefull information.
However the info given in the forum is realy up to date and real time.
Much better to use.
